Carrying a SAK While Running- Rust?

I always use warm water and dishing soap to clean my SAKs and a little bit of oil afterwards. Works really well.

You don't even really need oil, I just follow their instructions (submerge in soapy water, opn and close all tools under the water, rinse in fresh water, air-dry). saks are some of the most rust resistant knives around.

In my day we used the backspring philips and a piece of paracord to do as Jackknife wrote . Our model of choice was the equivalent of the present day Fieldmaster . Results were good , rust was a non issue .

read the instructions again... they do recommend oil after the SAK is air-dried. metal rubbing against metal is hardly ever a good thing.

I use a Spyderco Dragonfly Salt for mountain biking, clipped to my shorts in the small of the back. Its weightless, and rust proof. I like it...

I usually rinse it afterwards.

Im sure a SAK would also work as long as you rinse it regularly.
