Carrying a Sebenza abroad?

the problem here in EU is that every country has its own regulation, in Italy you cannot carry a knife without a "reason" , in Germany it's either locking-two hands ot non locking-one hand (so no CRK), not sure about France went there a week ago but had no knives with me (BAAD feeling..)

check online what is aloowed and what not, Opinels (French..) and SAKS should be fine

I wouldn't risk taking it unless you can bare to see a reseller of knives confiscated by TSA list it on eBay.

We went last summer with a UKPK. Do not take any knife to the Eiffel tower they will take it and won't return it. I wasn't thinking and had to leave the line after waiting an hour to go stash it in a near by park. I did take it into the Louvre and could have gotten it into chateau de Versailles.

And I would recommend paying a visit to Versailles if you can, it's worth it. Take the Metro (subway/train) and make sure you explore the gardens out back. It's ridiculous.

actually in Germany a one handed locking blade is legal as long as you have a socially adequate reason for carrying. ( I.e when fishing etc)

what makes it even stranger, a fixed blade up to 12cm is legal no matter what

but to sum it up. as long as you don't look for trouble, do not flash you knife and use it discretely you will not get into trouble

those laws are in place to have a way to confiscate knives carried by certain individuals before they are used to hurt people, but not to harass law abiding citizens

It was a few years ago that I went to Europe, and when I researched the laws then, it looked like tools were ok, but weapons were not, so I went with the most tool-like knives that would still work for me, which were the Swiss Rescue Tool, and LM Charge, both of which are obviously tools, but still had one hand locking blades.
