Carrying advantages of theRC-3 over the 4?

I have two RC-4's , but am considering a 3 in DT. Is it easier to carry around ( both sheaths would be on paracord beltloop) than the 4 in regards to weight and size? I read it's a pretty handy knife for most tasks , and more manouverable for finer jobs than the 4. ( which is a great knife , btw.) I'll be wearing it under a jacket or in my pack in the city.

Thanks for any input.:)

not sure if you'll notice the weight difference - i'm guessing 4 oz difference? the 3's sheath is about 0.75" shorter so there will be less printing which helps to conceal it.

for edc in a pack though, i like the 4 better. it has the right thickness and heft to it that just feels right in my hand. but if my advice causes you not to buy a 3 then don't listen to my useless opinion! buy the esee-3 and decide for yourself which one you like better :D

The HEST is slightly shorter than the three but if you liked the thinness of the 3
then I can see that.

Thanks for the comparison shot. Looks like I'd like to EDC that size, and keep the 4 for the bush belt. That slightly smaller size(and blade thickness) will be great for daily carry.

Edit: Bike inner tube?

I just got an RC3 and it seems like a very small knife... very compact like it was mentioned here... very nice... I LIKE!!! but then I am comparing it to my RC6... which is HUGE next to the RC3...

yes. wet micarta is still slippery for me.

Try beeswax thread, and wrap it around the handle like your whipping the end of a rope ( so it doesn't come loose.) I use it wherever I have a grip issue, and have a few feet of strong line for emergency use.

I think I will get a 3 in DT ( I like canvas mic.) Got to save a bit of coin though.
These ESEE's are quickly becoming my favorites , although I use others as well.

I carry my RC 4 with me every where i go ever single day..i carry it scout style, but not in the small of my back, rather right under my belly button. lol. Its a comfortable carry position and i can access the knife FAST.

Under a jacket or shirt? Or open carry?
