Carrying by bails and lanyards

I always used to just carry my pocket knife in my pocket...old school. But if I'm wearing something other than denim, I found that it occasionally slipped out of my pocket while sitting down, especially if the pocket was shallow. After losing a few knives this way, I decided I had to have lanyard holes and/or bails. The problem is...that eliminated a whole world of wonderful knives that didn't have holes or bails! So I came up with this silly idea...but it works wonderfully:

The knife is snug enough inside the leather holster to stay put, but easy enough to push/slide out when I need to use it. If it slips out of my pocket, it still remains attached to my belt loop. If you get a few old sterling silver pocket watch chains, you have something kinda classy dangling between your belt loop and pocket...win win win!

At first, I thought that was one of those super rare paperclip chains from the 1960's.

I made this lanyard to put on a water bottle then can attach to a fannypack or backpack webbing so if it falls out it is still with me. Happens frequently enough. so I thought it would work with a knife bail...even a SAK. It does need to be about 2 in shorter to fit well in the front pocket. So have a project for this afternoon. It is some smaller 350 paracord.

The RR scout is in the front pocket, but can easily go to the back on these pants. Once I make it shorter will work in all of my jeans.

Very neat!

(I need a pair of those pants...they look like they'd be great to carry multiple knives in! Who makes them?)

I place a lanyard on this one because it's a sailor knife and fits ! Although need to find some white cotton nautical rope or at least some white paracord for the full effect as soon as can find time to look for some
