I will be going to Mexico City in April. Does anyone know the laws for this country? I probably will have a couple in carry on, but what about on the streets? Can anyone help? Thanks
Bartman
Call your U.S. senators office, they should be able to give you the phone # of the department you need to talk to. They should also be able to tell you what's legal, blade length, for carry on.

If I hadn't lost my temper I'd be alot sharper.
Bartman: Don't know if this'll help...a few months ago Tactical Knives had an article by Steven Dick, where he went on a trip to Mexico and tested a large Kershaw G-10 ATS-34 and other knives. I think he said the only problem he had was at LAX when they wouldn't let him board the plane with a Calypso Jr. because it locked. Anyway, enjoy your trip!
I haven't been south of the border in recent decades, but I would be surprised if a country where switchblade knives are openly sold wasn't generally pocket-knife-friendly.
But don't even think about taking a gun into Mexico without getting official permission in writing!
And U.S. Customs will nab that switchblade if they find it.
