So, the other day I was looking at my Murray Carter knife and noticed that the buffalo horn handle was cracking and pulling away from the tang. So, naturally, I called Murray to address the problem. We both came to the conclusion that it was climate change that was drying out and warping the buffalo horn, being that I live in Texas and he shipped from Oregon. Now, I'm a knife maker, myself, and understand that you can never be certain of what natural handle material will do, so I understood when Murray told me that the repairs wouldn't be warranted. But, Murray Carter being the gentleman that he is, didn't let it end at that. Any other business would have told me "tough luck" and sent me on my way, but instead of paying for repairs, Murray offered me half off on a new knife. He and Jason even went as far as sending me pictures of the new "Perfect Model" that hadn't even come out yet and gave me first choice of the batch he had ready. So, now, I just opened my brand new "Murray's Perfect Model" neck knife. I cannot thank Murray enough for his gracious offer and how well he and Jason handled the situation. If you don't already have a Carter Cutlery knife, you need to get one because these knives are amazing and Murray and Jason's customer service is top-notch. I will always be a loyal customer and friend.
