yeah those are great, love the work, the bird on the first and the dragon on the second , obviously ( man those are great)

Will you guys stop it! Are those drop dead gorgeous or what!

Wife just asked me if there's such a thing as knifes anonymous. I told her I thought this was it right here. She did NOT agree.

Those are very very special. The new keeper of those is one very lucky person. I'm sooooo happy for them whoever they may be.

They were my customs that Auntie had done for me. They are done extraordinarily well, and are prized possessions. The Silver MTD Dragon AK was for my birthday from my wife, and I had the carved UBE done for a friend (was my ex-supervisor) of mine who was leaving his post as the President of the Northern California Nepalese Association, and presented it to him at a dinner, in his honor, by the association. The UBE is so beautiful, that my friend has me safekeeping it, because I always keep my prized knives in pristine condition, and in a humidity and temperture controlled room in my basement.

Whenever we have a poker game or gathering at his place, he always asks me to bring it over to show his Nepalese friends, and it gets nothing short of "oos and ahhhs". I've promised him and his friends some DOTD's, assuming of course, I can get past some of you sharks out there...lol.

great post cul, thanks for sharing, and thanks for sharing those customs !

Gorgeous blades. Did you specify the graphics to be engraved, or just let the kamis use their imagination? Is there some meaning to the engravings? And, may I ask, how long did it take to complete the commission?

Gehazi:

I had promised Auntie many, many months ago, tyo post the pics, I just couldn't figure out how to do it on the forum. I'm not a computer illiterate by any means, but dang, I couldn't and still cannot figure it out.

I just got on this forum a few months back, and still trying to figure it out.

I saw that a Karda had posted some pics of the Uddha sword from one of Auntie's customers, and then I thought, hey! Auntie can do that for me too!

I am glad you enjoyed the pics, rest assured, I love these knives, I love that UBE so much, I am going to have to ask Auntie make me one for myself too.

Shaggy:

The Dragon AK took one month. I'm Chinese, and the Dragon reflects, strength, wisdom, protection, basically, most of the manly attributes of a husband, father, and family man. That was why my wife had asked Auntie to make it for me, and engrave both sides of the blade with a dragon.

The UBE took about 2 months I believe, I just asked Auntie to do whatever she, or the Kamis, wanted to do. I only requested that it was engraved to reflect the culture of Nepal, with Nepalese symbols, because it was a gift for my Nepalese friend.

Thank you Bawanna, I do feel special as the owner of one of those knives anyway, and I feel very privelaged to have had Auntie and the Kamis produce such a beautiful Presentation UBE, for my friend.

I have to ask Auntie to make me another UBE for myself in the near future. I just love that knife, love the look, the feel, the practicalness, just everything about it.

every time i tried to comment on the beauty of those blades i had to scroll back up and look at them again. i am purely amazed. the artwork is very stunning and i cant quit looking at it.

I have to admit, i'm a bit green with envy right now. ;) :D
The SMAK is probably my favorite khukuri of them all.
I have one by Bura and one by Rajkumar that my kind friends here bought me ask a gift from their generous hearts.
Now I want another just like yours with dragons on the blade.
Thanks for getting my HIKV started again.....:p

Beautiful collections! Robert
Thank you for post, Karada

I'm glad everyone enjoyed. Thank you Auntie for these great khuks and the over-the-top personal customer service. Thanks to Karda for helping a newbie post pics of his newly acquired favorite khuks.

If Karda gets one just like yours with the Dragons and stuff I want one too. Probably have to sell my van to get one but it would be a good trade off to me.

Takes my breath away. Both of them.

Actually Bawanna, the Dragon SMTD AK, was my first ever HI khuk. In fact, one of my buddies had suggested HI to my wife, and she contacted Auntie to have it commissioned. From my understanding, Auntie worked with her, because the AK was actually a gift from my wife to me, for my birthday. What a fantasic way to to be introduced to HI, auntie, and the incredible product line!
