Bumping the thread for some of our new members with budding HIKV to help kick it into overdrive...;)

HI Kami's can do wondrous wonders!

Just what I needed to see after picking up a nice matching Finn 28/30 1938, Pohja/Pohjola District, today!
To my eye, the sweep of the UBE and the handle and mounting of the AK would be about perfect.
Something to pester my sleep tonight. I thought the UBEs were larger than that....

For comparison, here is a UBE without the carving. It's by Sher, 18" long and 33 oz.

This is one of my favorite knives. For some reason that I can't quite figure out, it seems much bigger and more massive in the hand than other knives of similar length and weight. Also, the fullers are great and the satin finish is very well done.

The UBE is done by Tirtha and is 18" OAL.
The AK is done by Rajkumar and is 15" OAL.

Thx sharing, Dragon mean the shape or the myth story behind the blade.

The Dragon AK took one month. I'm Chinese, and the Dragon reflects, strength, wisdom, protection, basically, most of the manly attributes of a husband, father, and family man. That was why my wife had asked Auntie to make it for me, for my birthday, and engrave both sides of the blade with a dragon.

Very nice. Esp. like the handle wood on the UBE, as well as the beautiful red inset leather work on the scabbard.

One of the differences in many HI knives between now and years ago is the newer varied leather work on the scabbards, which are artworks themselves. I'd say 95% of mine are plain black buffalo hide, with a few red ones here and there.

I hope you don't plan on doing anything crazy with these showpieces, like chop with them! :D

Thanks for sharing your pics.

Just don't want to use it for chopping, any single spot of rust or stain should not be on it!
