Carving Christmas Turkey

Tiguy, and a proper table indeed with 5 matching sets of salt & pepper shakers. Complete with C3PO toy robots. And a boars head cake but no knife. Still, I'm impressed. You and your wife must have some VIP guest. DM

I have used my BK5 for turkey duty for several years. No turkey today; but I'll likely be doing one in a couple weeks.

I was doing just great on the turkey, and then somebody whipped out a boar’s head. How do carve one of those?
I'll eat most any meat, but i just dont find the had of anything appetizing. Not saying i wouldnt try it if it was put before me, but i wont b the 1st to try it. But i dont think i will eat the brain regardless.

Probably because as a whole bird they just start slicing, while not as important on a bird, most probably dont know to slice meat across the grain.
Interesting. I’m gonna guess the boars head is actually a cake for dessert or it’s made out of spam. One of those two.

st8yd, hog brain has no flavor of it's own. It taste like what ever you mix with it. Like eggs, ect.. Which is the way we served it. DM

Ya, I'll stick with mixing grits with my eggs. LOL Most folks say grits don't have any taste either so that's fine.
My Grandpa used to like squirrel head stew but he did that before my time, I just heard him talk about it.

Ya I was thinking a cake, as the pictures of the whole hog cooked I've seen look a lot different. LOL

I ended up using my Kalinga as a steak knife to cut my Filet mignon. It cut through it like butter. Was actially so cool. I tried to post a picture as i already have posted pics on anothe thread but it says my file is to large for server to process?? K Bar thread was no problem?

Just practice. Tried to post my kalinga steak knife at the dinner table and it wont post. Teied others no joy but this pic seems to post no problem. Puzzling?

Is it just the server is down or having issues? Wish i knew how to reduce the picture size?
Pull up your picture file, click on your picture, go to edit at the top, one click, go left to resize, click pixel, resize to 850 X 750, click save. Then go to Forums and
post it. DM

DM thanks! I did what you said but the resize numbers are different than your scale. Went with 2:3 as it seemed to reduce it apparently enough as there it is. Anytime i steak or meat i will use my kalinga. Was a nice cutter.

Didn't have any of the meals mentioned. But, I do have three old, thin bladed, 121's that we use as kitchen knives. Have a fourth that use to go to the field with me to prepare any game taken to ice chest size. Upon return home they were all sharpened and the vacuum packing of various cuts began. Here is a photo of a nice fat elk chunk getting reading for packaging. All gone now. Vehicle could get close and it was getting dark or I would have left the fat for coyote's and saved carrying weight. 300
