I doubt this is the right place to post this but it's maker related. When I got married(10 years ago) my father in law gave me this carving set that he found at an estate sale. Prior to knowing anything about knifemaking this set sat unused until 3 years ago when we finally hosted our first thanksgiving. I've only been a maker for a year now and just popped my set out in preparation for thanksgiving. It's a Sheffield set and have no idea what year it's from. Now that I've made knives I can appreciate the craftsmanship put into the set. I literally never appreciated it until now. I never paid attention to the filework or the makers mark. I never even knew what Sheffield was. Thanks to Samuel Peace my family will have a carved turkey tomorrow.
Now I gotta go tune up the edge. Any recommendations on what grit to take it to?
