I was at my local LGS the other day and he had just bought a Case knife that is like a Bowie knife blade being 10" long. The knife really caught my eye, so I bought it. He had it listed for $115.00 (I do not know if it was to much) but I do a huge amount of business with him so he gave it to me for $75. Still probably too much but I liked it enough that I bought it.
It is a 10" Case Bowie Knife with stag handle and a home made sheath. I do not know anything about this knife and was wondering if all the good people on this form could help with a model # of the knife and if I overly paid for it. On the end of the handle it has a coin that says (AJAX COAL Co. 1oo Non -transferable) on a Gold in color coin.
Like I said I really liked the knife and it really just caught my eye to add to my collection.. Just need some info, age maybe, what it might be worth (all though it is not factory). And just a general thought of it.
Thanks in advance guy's.

I'm afraid it looks like a re-handled counterfeit. To my knowledge, Case has never used crown stag. As for value, Blade Forums has some rules about that so I can't help you there. Use it and abuse it.
Here's what it looked like before the handle was tricked out.

Guy's,
Thanks for the link (Kinda Silly But it is what it is) I am not interested in resale just curious really. I won't ask again.

Wazo13,
Thanks for the picture, that helped me see what it use to be.

I found that knife in the picture on one of the auction sites so thank you.

You're welcome.

You may think its silly, but its the rules.
And it doesn't matter what you intend to do with the knife.
