Case 6347 Green Pocket Worn Stockman

Thanks man. :)

Are other stockmans only 2 spring or what?

-

They also had a 4 bladed stockman there that was kinda weird looking. I didn't even know they made 4 blade stockmans.

It was neat.

older Case 47 patterns have 2 springs, seems like they started using 3 springs in the 90's it makes all 3 blades roughly the same thickness with the main clip only slightly thicker whereas the 2 spring older models had a much thicker and more stout main clip blade.

Nice knife. Happy New Years back to yall. Sure wish we all had hardware and feed stores that sold Buck and Case but sadly such a store is hard to find.

If you have a Tractor Supply Store near you, check there, they sell them in NY and PA anyway.

The Buck 301 uses 3 springs. I think the 303 does as well.

You may well be right there. When I dug out my stockman assortment I found two Bucks (703 and 373) that had three backsprings. I just hadn't noticed. :o I didn't count the Colonial three spring, since it is a four blade with a hawkbill blade on the center spring.

My Case 6347 only has two springs, though. I've had it since the early 80's.

That's a beautiful knife, I love the three springs and the rounded bolsters.

Our Tru-Value didn't used to sell any knives. But, oddly enough, after Schrade went out of business they started selling the Chinese Taylor Old Timers. :thumbdn:

The more I use this knife the more I love it. I already cut my left index finger on the sheepsfoot blade. It didn't "feel" that sharp when running my finger across the blade perpendicularly. I however closed the sheepsfoot blade and it snapped the tip of my index finger and it was a perfect slice into my finger. I then attempted to shave my arm hair with all the blades and it shaved my arm very nicely.

Also, the fit and finish of this knife is incredible. I have owned a Queen large stockman and a Queen 1095 Canoe and this Case has fit and finish that is as good as or better than the Queen knives.

Awesome knife.

David,

I'm interested in the 4 blade they have. While you're checking for snowflake, could you take a peak at the 4 blades they may have for me?

I don't want to clutter up your thread after this request, so is it OK to chat further via email with you at your convenience?

Thank You,
Anthony

Anthony (or anyone for that matter),

Please always feel free to email me or PM me whenever you like. I'm addicted to email I think. :)

And yeah that 4 bladed stockman was weird. It looked like a stockman and NOT like a congress. I'll check it out. :)

Some VERY decent looking bone on that knife:thumbup:

An enviable knife.

I like the pocketworn series, fit&finish does seem really excellent on this line.I HAD a pocketworn Mini Copperlock in old school deep red-bone, but this one seems to have slid out somewhere:grumpy:Haven't found it anywhere for months....
