Case/Bose Collaborations. Who carries them?

I am getting my new Lannys Clip point in the mail tomorrow and plan on it being my main edc (I dont believe in safequeens)...pics to follow

I carry one often, especially if I am travelling and won't carry a custom.
Life's too short to be without a fine knife in your pocket.
It's a little known fact that for people like me, time spent on the airplane without a knife is actually deducted from your time in hell.

I don't have one currently, but I will carry the heck out of my 2013 when it comes in. I can't wait.

A couple years ago it seems like the Case/Bose Collabs were all the rage. These days I don't see many people on the forum talking about them. Anyone still have any that are in your rotation as users? I've been through several but I'm down to only my Tribal Spear. I've had a few that I do regret selling. There was the last Norfolk that I still wonder why I sold it.

I want to report this post. It is wanting to hijack my wallet and hold it for ransom. I don't have one, but think I might like one of the doglegs or the newest wharncliffe trapper when it comes available. It's one of the knives on my 2013 list.

I've been carrying my Tribal Spear and Lanny's clip. If I wasn't so worried about losing them, I would carry the Tribal Spear every day. I have an antique bone and an ebony Tribal Spear, when I get the ebony back from Case warranty, I will start carrying that.

I carry all the ones I have except the coffin jack, which is a smidgeon too thick for what I like to EDC. The coffin jack is the only one I have that has two springs, which makes me wonder if the next version of the collab will be that thick...

I don't own or carry a Bose, but I eye them from time to time. Expensive as they are, they are not prohibitively expensive when the money is on hand, but I can't decide if I want to get one or just go for a purely custom. I know Mr. Bose is a legend in the knifemaking community, but where to the Bose/Case collaborations stand between production and custom? Most customs are beyond my pricerange, but I've seen a couple makers on par with the Bose collabs pricewise, so I wonder where to put my money. I'm mostly happy with production knifes, but I'm looking to save up and within a year get myself one really nice higher end slipjoint. Looking at a Lloyd knife currently, but these Bose collabs are also tempting. Any opinions on this?

Not trying to derail or make this a Bose vs. other makers thread, I'd just rather know what I'm getting into a bit more before putting out big money on a knife.

I've bought most of the Case/Bose collaborations and have not had anything to complain about. The price is commensurate to what you are receiving in my opinion. The draw for me is that Tony Bose takes one of his designs and works with Case, an old American manufacturer, to get his design manufactured to his specs. The materials used exceed what you find on the average production knife. I use a few of them because I like the particular pattern and they are a joy to carry and use.

I honestly feel you can't go wrong in buying one. Even the occasional problem knife will be made right by Case. Their customer service is superb.

The beauty of buying a true custom is that you can work with the knifemaker to get something made just for you. It can be a fun and rewarding experience. We're fortunate to have many fine knifemakers posting in this forum. You'd be proud to own and carry a knife made by any of them.

Thank you for the help Peregrin. I'm going to take a considerable time deciding what I want before spending this kind of money, but you've given me some good information to contemplate.

I saved up for 6 months to afford my Lanny's Clip in Chestnut.

It gets carried quite often, even considering it's up to 10 times more expensive than my other traditional knives that make it into rotation. It's a joy to handle, and I don't regret spending that much. The finish is beyond any traditional production knife I've ever handled.

Now, my main attraction to the knife was the actual model, and not just any Case/Bose collaboration would have been worth my investment. I just happen to really like the Lanny's Clip design, since I first saw it a few years ago.

This year's design in cool, but not so much that I've been saving for it. If I happen to have the money available when it shows up, it may be a possibility.

I think this sad story belongs to the thread as well: I have never ever lost a knife in my life but I'm afraid my Case/Bose Muskrat rests in Arabian Sands now
Carrying it in a special 'knife pocket' with a press button on my trousers I felt completely safe but the button must have come lose and the knife slipped out of the pocket. The moment I found out it was missing there was no chance going back to look for it...

Man, sorry to hear that! I carry a Remington peanut that was gifted to me here, at work, it is gummint legal. I carry my ebony Tribal Spear everywhere, everyday, but I leave it on my truck seat in my ball cap during the work day. Sometimes, it makes its way behind the seat, under the seat etc. I have times where I feel like I've lost it forever, then I find it. Hoping I don't lose it forever, it is a great knife.

Right now, I've got the coffin jack, dogleg jack, Tribal Spear (one in antique bone and one in ebony), Lannys Clip and the wharncliff trapper.

The Case/Bose Coffin Jack In Jigged Bone is my favorite knife I don't own, and Id carry the hell out of it.

Sadly, Im not willing to pay $250+ for one.

Wish GEC would make a 2 bladed 'coffin'

Ouch.

Take solace in the fact that in 2000 years some alien archaeologist might find it and it will spend eternity in a museum.

Either that or some Bedouin has already found it and is using it much more than you or I ever would...

I carry my Lanny's Clip and Tribal Spear more than I think I would. I say that because I do rotate a lot of knives. My Ebony Norfolk not so much.Mainly because it is buried somewhere. I too regret selling 2 Arkansas Hunters,Yukon Jack and a Pruner. Someday I'll get them back;)

Thank you all for your compassion - it means a lot to me!
Merovingian, it is funny that you mention this. This was exactly my first thought after I had realized that it rests in the desert now. The color of the bone matches the reddish sand perfectly :(
I will continue to carry especially my favorite knives but I've learned my lesson: Carrying a knife always includes the possibility of losing it - and it does not only happen to others!

Thanks for posting this beauty - I love it!
Not as a replacement but as a new goal
