I am so unhappy with this knife, words can't describe. Absolutely pathetic. There were only 100 stag made, this is horribly fitted, shield is at a 45 degree angle, one side is twice as thick? Sorry for crappy pics, so not happy. For 370$, I can't send this back fast enough. Pathetic...

Clearly not their best effort (nor QC). The "wedged" look at the bolster reminds me of the 1970's. Sorry for your disappointment, Kris.

Is that a long gap between the backspring and liner? That handle would have looked better without a shield. Also are the rivets too short too? I wouldn't be happy with that for $370 either.

F & F on the liner and blade are fine, some of the pins are short, but that's is how it is done on thick handle pieces. Just a horribly fitted piece of stag.

What am I, chopped liver? Sheesh. :p

(Okay, I feel a little better now.;))

I wouldn't be happy with it either but I've seen A LOT worse at all price levels. It looks like you've got a lot of folks that are willing to help and I hope it gets sorted out to your satisfaction.

Oh, Elliott, your still the man :D

I'd rather be half the man (in age)...but hey, who's counting? Thanks, you young whippersnapper. ;)

Keep us up to speed on how this gets dealt with. I'm willing to bet it will be resolved to your satisfaction.

Sorry to hear you got a Lemon LC, Kris. I've been disappointed a few times with Case's stag. There just isn't any excuse for that kind of fit on a premium slip joint. Let us know how it turns out.

I wanted the stag version, but after seeing this I am glad I got the jigged bone.

Jeff

I am sorry you got this knife, Kris. At this price the knife should be top level, which yours is clearly not. I hope you'll succeed in solving the problem with case to your complete satisfaction.
Mike

Wow that's as bad as I've seen. And the #1 reason I only buy stag handled knives I can handle first. Yes stag suitable for handle material is hard to come by but that's why we pay the premium price. Someone at case should hire me for quality control lol. I'd never let this out the door. On a positive note I've never had a problem with case that they didn't eventually fix. Stay on them

That's pretty sad, especially for the price. I don't know why, but it seems like American knife companies can't do stag as well as the European firms. GEC does a good job, so it should be an example for the rest to do likewise. I've seen knives by Hubertus, Linder, Muela, A. Wright, and even Joker, that had nice stag scales on them. But eight times out of ten, Case blows it with the stag. It's either too thick on one side, or polished off until it looks more like bone than real stag.

If GEC can do it, then the people as Case need to get on the wagon and learn as well. For the price of one of a Bose collaboration, this is not good.

Carl.

My brother just came in while I was looking at this thread and commented that he is left handed and LIKES the larger scales on that side he claims it would fit his band better ( it takes all kinds I guess) anyway if case doesn't make it right for you Maybe my idiot lefthanded brother would buy it off you

Thats funny Paul. Case told me to send it to them, so thats what I will do. Report back later.

Kris

I'm not following here. The covers look pretty well fitted to me. Are you talking about the cut of the stag? Specifically how the stag is thickest in the middle and tapers towards the bolsters? Unfortunately that plateau look is fairly common with stag covers. I've experienced it myself.

I agree that it's unacceptable on a knife at that price point. For the money paid you should not only be getting premium craftsmanship you should also get premium materials.
