This one is missing the guard, but is brand new in box/tin. If you want to send it back to Case you can have it for $28 shipped. Paypal preferred and I'll eat the fees.

What happened to the guard? (As in: is there any damage to the tang, etc.?)

no damage other than the guard is gone. I bought with the intentions of sending it in, but I don't want to mess with it. Lock up is great.
