Case Copperhead

I absolutely agree with picking a copperhead over a trapper. I wonder why Case does not have this as their flagship two blade knife with a multitude of variations into perpetuity?

If they made a copperhead in cv steel with the clip and an equal length wharncliffe blade I'd be all over every variation they produced. That said I don't find myself missing the full sized spey blade of the trapper. The pen blade is rather large and capable of finer cutting work when you don't need 3" of blade

That same space is proportionally there with any Jack knife. In the Case line, from a Peanut to a Texas Jack, Medium Jack and the Copperhead with Pen for example.
Fans of a Jack knife won't complain. On the other hand, fans of Trapper knives would agree with you. Personally, I prefer a Jack over a Trapper ... and really not sure exactly why, just do.
Guess it all boils down to personal preference.
Same here. I like Jacks better and don’t know why really.

I like the Case Copperheads so much I bought two - the Amber Bone CV and Patriotic Kirinite Tru-Sharp.

One of my favorite patterns. I tried to grab a few, several years back about when they were discontinued. Here is a photo of some of them - with a couple of the "mini" versions as well. I have a couple more not pictured - the navy blue bone with the "wharncliffe" main, similar to the red and yellow, and the regular clip main in Molasses Barnboard Jigged, which is my favorite of them all.

I am glad they brought the pattern back for others to appreciate. I am well done buying any new ones. I think these will last me.

hasn't left my pocket since i got one a couple weeks ago. in terms of cliches like "a real workhorse" I believe it's an actual workhorse of a pattern. enjoy
