Case Mini CopperLock SS

-Brett

Two yellow with CV steel and a Chestnut bone with SS. I have a Case Cattaraugus Copperlock with ATS-34 on the way.

Keep 'em coming....beautiful masterpieces, btw.

BTW, I read somewhere the current stainless steel knives use ATS-34....did I misunderstand?

You misunderstood.
The only Copperlock that was made with ATS-34 is the Case Cattaragus like I have on the way.

Case Cattaraugus?

Case will market some of their knives with their previous company names at times. You know how they love to market in any way they can, but sometimes it can help you get upgrades. The ones like the one I'm getting were done in 2004. Several patterns, all with ATS-34 and Case Tested red bone scales. Case Tested Red bone is not my favorite, but I wanted it for the steel. I got it at such a good price that I can get the scales changed if I don't care for them and still have much less in it than what they usually sell for.

What's really neat is that a pair of Champlin Knife collectors have partnered up and formed a new company named after the original owners of the Cattaraugus Cutlery Co., JBF Champlin, and are manufacturing USA made old school patterned Cattaraugus knives....

I knew the history, I was just unaware of this particular run of knives; I'd only heard of the A.G. Russell produced ones bearing the Cattaraugus name.

I wont post pics because mine arent very special, but I have an orange G-10 and a brown delrin with as-ground blade. I have edc'ed the brown delrin for a year and a half.

It's really such a great pattern. Biggish, but slim, yet solid. I haven't read of any lockup problems, both of mine like vaults. The clip blade with the long pull and swedges is one of the finest examples of the type, imho. For some reason I like satin finishes a lot and the as-ground really seems to work on this knife.

Could not agree more...I've always been a fan of a satin finish on knife blades, but having a high polish blade never kept me from buying a particular knife. I would like to see this as-ground finish offered more than just the Carhartt line.

Insofar as the copperlock goes, what I find attractive is the overall design, but most importantly it's a lock back, and the clip point blade is aesthetically pleasing; am I the only one who feels this way?
