Case Crossroads Sod Buster® Jr?

The reason to hang around BF is to discover new needs.

The edge was evenly ground on both sides. 20 DPS. It came with a usable edge, but it was coarsely ground and the edge wanted refining, a minor task which I don't mind performing. The steel was crisp on the DMT diamond stones, sign of a good high Rockwell. Spring was absolutely flush in both the opened and closed positions.

I was impressed that the sides were evenly ground. So many knives that I buy these days have an uneven primary grind. 22 DPS on one side, 14 DPS on the other is pretty common for me to find.

I seem to remember someone saying that some Crossroads soddies are thinner depending on the handle material. Anyone know for sure?

For me, the Crossroads are “normal” thickness in that they never seem too thin or too thick. I have some other Sodbusters in bone that are noticeably thicker than the Crossroads or other sodbusters.

The bone models are thicker? 🤔
