I took my 3347 yeller stockman out on a short camping trip with my son. It was a cub event so there was a ton of opportunities to use the knife to cut rope, open boxes, etc.. Also got to do about an hour's worth of whittling so I put the knife through its paces. This steel really held up. I was very impressed. I never got the chance to really lean on a case CV prior to this and I expected more dulling. The knife was still very sharp after quite a bit of use. I usually have 30 degree inclusives on all blades except the sheep so it had a fine-er edge on it. A few passes on the spyderco this evening and it was back to "shaving" sharp.

I am very impressed with this knife and considering the cost, this is an excellent buy. I think Case got it right along time ago with their CV.

Not many knives like a good old Case Stockman in yellow cv. CV really is some good stuff, wish they offered more knives with it.

I'm looking forward to Scouting events, first camping trip in a few weeks...now, which knife (err...knives :D) am I taking with me!

Well, you made sure that I will get a Case CV. I was going to cave and buy a 22087, but I think I will wait for an option in CV. A medium jack in yellow CV would suit me just fine.

I really like this steel also. I only have two right now, a chestnut bone Peanut and a yeller Pen, but I am thoroughly enjoying using them, and I do so just about every single day.

I, personally, don´t want to be more knives being released in CV... not because of the steel; because of my wallet! ;) ;)

CV is a great steel. As much as I can say; it holds an edge good and gets razor sharp. The patina it takes is also not bad. I carried my Case Medium Stockman Chestnut Bone CV for a about nine months as my only EDC. (Then I found GEC)

I think we both have the similar knife. I like it very much as a working knife. The pic is older (we have no snow here in the beginning of May ;) )

Kind regards
Andi

I picked up a 1980s stockman in CV and the thing holds up great!! its awesome to see that the formula hasn't changed for the worse. It sounds to me that the old stuff is just as good. and the new stuff hasn't slouched in quality.

Keep it up!

Case, if you're listening, PLEEEASE make the TB small saddlehorn in CV. It's a great pattern, and deserves carbon goodness!

CV is the best. I like the 1095 on my edc # 56 but the cv has better stain resistant and holds an edge better.

Reading my mind again are you?:D
While we're at it, could we also have a run of Pocket Hunters in CV, please?

I'll be good, I promise.

Oh yes. Even I would be good. For a while at least.

I am a little suprised. I thought the "SS" would be much more popular due to higher rust resistance. I have been avoiding CV for that reason. Input would be appreciated. Maybe I should try out a CV model?

There is a lot of love for CV on this forum. Myself included.
CASE CV holds an edge somewhat better than Case Tru-Sharp.
