Case Eisenhower in amber bone

Well I learned how to use the digital camera and post pics so I had to bring this thread backup so I could show off my Eisenhowers. :D Happy Holidays to everyone.
Jim

So those are Case's tru-sharp SS then. . .right?

How well does the blade take and keep its edge?

I don't have very much experience with it. Is it for collecting only
or does it actually make a good working knife?

Tru-Sharp is good stuff. Cuts like the dickens! It'll take and hold an edge better than most SS steels. Its not carbon steel but its still good stuff.

.. I can say that if Case made an Eisenhower in CV minus the autograph, I'd be in seventh heaven.

They did at one time, sort of, in the 6201, not sure if they still do make this pattern but here is my vintage 6201 which basically you have just described perfectly in your aforementioned statement.

Thats a nice knife you got their Sunnyd. Both of mine are stainless. The top one in the picture was made in 1979 the other one was made in the last few years. They both hold a edge pretty well and sharpen up like razors.

Grateful,

I really like both those knives of yours. Your right about those blades getting sharp as razors too.

BTW, Your photograph is absolutely stellar!

Thanks Sunnyd,I thought the photo turned out well. Tha map was my wife's idea.

An alternative to the Eisenhower (if the autograph on the blade annoys you, it would me, ANY autograph) might be the CASE Pen-Knife about 3.25" with rounded bolsters and very nice serpentine shape. I have the common-or-garden yellow-handle in cv (stainless too) and find it useful carry size, slim and unjustly overlooked frankly.

Here is the Eisenhower in Pocket Worn Orange Harvest Bone:

As you can see, the finish grind on the main blade is a bit coarse.
