Case "Family Brands"

The search function does work,

I know these are made by Case XX (They started the Family Brands in 2002) and have read up on the histories of the different brands. I just bought a C. Platts' Sons Cutlery By Case XX Walnut Bone Barlow.
I would assume since these are made by Case XX that they would be of the same quality?

They are the same as a current Case knife with an alternate (historical) tang stamp and shield. OH

Thanks Old Hunter, I kind of assumed that being a Case Collector for a while but was just curious. I think its pretty neat that Case would pay tribute to a lot of the brands that they were associated with through the years. Intersting read on the Case website of the Family Brands.

apparently they (Case) also stayed with things like Historical Jigging and shields/badges on the different Brands they pay tribute to.

Being as this thread has resurfaced I will show off a couple more Case Bros. I picked up since April - I like the Federal shields on them. OH

Great Pics Old Hunter! Yes the Federal shields are very nice. The shield on the C Platts Barlow I bought has the Propellor shield.

(The sellers pic of the C Platts Barlow I bought)

I love a Case Barlow - always been one of their best patterns; yours looks great with the distinctive C. Platts shield (the jigging is very nicely done too!) OH

Thanks again OH. I love the Case Barlows as well, I have a few of the Case Barlows (need to take some pics) my oldest being a sawcut delrin 1976 in almost flawless condition.

Nice Barlow Tom!

Another one from the C. Platts line..... a Whittler in Burnt Stag. I've had this one for about ten years, and carried it several of those ten. I'm a big fan of the whittler pattern, and this one has served me well.

Michael, thank you Sir! and im also a fan of the Whittler pattern and that Whittler of yours in Stag is very nice! I have a Case branded Half Whittler in Stag that's very nice. I don't have a pic of it that I took but I bought it from GP Knives and got the one they took a pic of to showcase the few Half Whittlers in Stag that they had in stock.
this is the one I bought (the actual one)

That is a fine looking half whittler.
And Grand Prairie knives is a BF dealer member, so mentioning them and posting pics with their logo on them is OK.

Thank you Jeff, the 47 pattern Case is one of their favorite patterns for me to collect and that knife is one of my favorite 47's - there is more orange in the bone than in my other Case Bros. knives. OH

I know that's an old topic, but it is the right one for my question, so... Looking for any dating info on recent Case Crandall knives. Only found that they were last made in 2007-2009. Were they made in any later years? Just stumbled on a couple in some store and wanted to dig infromation before buying.
