Case in-hand pics?

Does anyone have pictures of a variety of case knives in-hand? I'm looking for something to fill the gap between the large trapper and the peanut (both of which I've handled--one too large, one too small).

It's a plus if the pic features models offered in CV, as that's my preferred steel.

Thanks for any help!

Sorry, no in hand pictures but it sounds like the Swayback Jack in CV steel would be exactly that size.

I've got some that I can take a photo of tomorrow. Some CV, some not, but you can get some idea of the sizes available. I've got a mini copperhead, a sway back jack, a Texas jack, mini trapper, mini copperlock, large copperlock, copperhead and standard canoe patterns. I have a pattern 47 stockman that should be here tomorrow. I'll throw it in the mix too, if it shows up in the mailbox. I'm thinking the Texas Jack or the mini trapper pattern will be right on for you. You can get both of those in CV

The gap in size between Case's large trapper and the peanut is a large one. There are many, many patterns that fit in between those two. Various stockman patterns, the mini trapper, barlows, jacks, canoes etc. etc.

I think Ed's suggestion for the Texas Jack or the mini trapper is a good one. The swayback jack is another pattern worth looking at- as it seems to be the knife du jour.

Sorry, no in-hand pics here either. :o

I don't have a Case full size trapper but here is a peanut, tiny trapper, and mini trapper (top to bottom)

Not in hand but it's the best I can do right now.
Bottom is the large trapper, center is Mini Copperhead which is 3 1/8in to the peanut's 2 7/8in.

You could fit the peanut between the bolsters of the large trapper.

This is not an in-hand picture, but here is an image that gives a size comparison of several different Case patterns, including the large trapper and peanut.

Orange G-10 Russlock. Gimme :p :D

Nice collection of case knives you have there!

I know you stated a preference for CV; I share it, but if you want to pull out all the stops on a top-o'-the-line Case knife with real heirloom quality, I recommend the 3-3/4" closed Case/Bose 2009 Norfolk in 154-CM. They're still available, but not for long. IMO, they're among the finest production slipjoints money can buy.

I took some photos. Maybe these will help. My hands are somewhat small so I like knives in the mini-trapper size to SB jack size best.

Here's a lineup so you can see relative sizes of the various patterns in one photo.

Heres the trapper in my hand:

2 Dead:
I believe that blue trapper in your photo is a tiny trapper instead of the mini trapper. The tiny trapper is actually smaller than the peanut. The peanut in my photo is a Craftsman, not a Case because I don't currently have a Case peanut.

Rick:
That Norfolk is really a nice knife. I can see why you have such a high opinion of it; it speaks highly of itself!

Thanks for all the suggestions. I realized as soon as I posted that I was obnoxiously vague, but y'all did a great job anyway. If I had known how friendly and helpful the traditional forum was, I might have started hanging out here sooner (I tend to frequent W&SS).

Now on to the knives...Something about the size of the small trapper looks like it would be about perfect; long enough to do what I want, but still small enough to fit comfortably in my pocket. I have never liked the looks of the long clip on the main blade, but I might get over it. I'm also going to have a look at the Texas jack and the medium stockman, if I can find a brick and mortar store that carries them. The SBJ is gorgeous, but maybe a bit too small. I might look for one to try in-hand, though. The Case/Bose collab looks great, too, but is a little outta my price range.

Once again, thanks for all the help, and I'll be sure to stop in more often!

Here are a few more if it helps (cell phone pics, but should show size pretty well).

Although not carbon, the Mini Wharncliffe Trapper from CASE is a grand favourite of mine. I much prefer the Wharncliffe blade over the Spey and the knife is pocket friendly.

A Dogleg Jack from Queen is another option, pattern No.51 it comes in D2 and you may be a fan or a dissenter over that steel...Good size.

Wow, Ed I never remembered that Violet Trapper looked so good :D That Mini Trapper is gorgeous.
