Have any of you folks tried one of Case's Ivy Etched Bermuda Green Bone folders? From the photos they appear to be deeply carved into the bone, which looks like it would be a great gripping surface in use, as well as an attractive scale too.

Without having one to handle, it's holding me back on pulling the trigger on one ;)

So, let me know if any of you guys or gals ever grabbed one and what your thoughts are, photos as always are welcome !

Yes, Gary. My boys and I bought a mini trapper for my Dad for father's day. They are very nice. You have to appreciate fancy though. Scrolled bolsters and carved bone covers. My Dad collects Case only. I have a feeling he is going to be looking to get a representative of each pattern. The carved covers do provide extra grip.

Thanks for that, photos don't always tell the story, the fancy part is ok, but the key thing for me is the grip portion, don't like it when the knife slips from too smooth of scales.

resistance was useless. I snuck this one through when I bought my large stockman. It now resides with SWMBO and she thinks its beautiful. There 's no denying that. And yes plenty of grip. Note that the etching carries on into the bolsters as well.

Oh My  I know some prefer stainless, but goodness gracious me, if Case releases that with CV my paychecks are going to suffer!

That certainly is different, and very attractive. I just might have to get one of those.

That appears to be a 6318 pattern stockman. Very attractive and quite different from the handle options we have seen before!

Thanks for the images, I have the Peanut enroute, if I didn't already have a full size purple haze stockman coming, I would have gotten that one, of course, I still might ;)

I've always liked the texture they seemed to have, it's good to hear from others that have it, that it is as it looks :)

6318 medium stockman.
Some of the previous embellished bone handles Case did had no appeal for me. This is another story. I want a Russlock with ivy.

Those look too nice to resist. BBB version on the way. Was a toss up between that and the peanut...

Thanks for the pictures meako.

Here's a picture of mine from the vendor

Nice Mike!

I folded like a cheap suit and ordered the medium stockman today :) so by weeks end, I'll have both the Peanut and the Stockman ;)

aahhh-Baby Butter Bean.
Now I understand -I thought you meant Burnt Barn Board Bone-that would be BBBB tho.:o
Ivy and the butterbean is a match made in heaven.

The Peanut arrived today, those of you with a weak constitutional may want to avert your eyes, she is pretty ! Pulls on both are fairly strong, not nail breakers but you know you're opening the blade. While trying to get the two out at the same time, my fingers slipped off the pen and slid onto the clip blades edge, fortunately I had not sharpened it up yet, unfortunately, it arrived pretty dang sharp!! so I have a nice slice down the face of my left index finger...first cut in a long time!

Here's some shots, this texture is great, fit and finish really nice. Now as some of you may recall, I am not fond of the built in cant the blades have on the Peanuts, I prefer them to flow along the spine of the blade better, so I did file down the back spring to help allow the blade to come open a little more, not as much as I'd like, but it'll do.

really nice and worth the wait, glad to have a Peanut back on hand again!

That looks awesome Gary! You guys are making the wait more difficult :)

Now wait, we're trying to help you ease the pain of waiting ;) by showing you what they look like...

One thing that you can see is how the vine pattern on the bone flows into the pattern in the bolsters, very very neat to see that they took the time to match up that !

My medium Stockman should be here maybe tomorrow, but after getting this one, it does make me want to get the whole set! just a great looking way they did the scales on these and the bolsters.

edited to say, finger still healing, man that smarted! which seems odd since it wasn't a smart action on my part ;)

I really appreciate your pics Gary. You do a phenomenal job with the uplighting. Makes me want to buy a couple versions for myself......

This is not a real good day as I have already bought 4 Knives and {it is not even 11:00am yet } the 4th one was a Green Ivy Butterbean ~~ it just reached out and said "BUY ME" and me did ~~ i am so weak.* waaaaahhhhhhhh
Well at least I am going down in price instead of up -- which is a good thing.!! <<<<< if there is such a thing about Knives.!

Very pretty! I'm not quite sure how I feel about the engraved bolsters. I might prefer them plain, to contrast more with the scales...

Either way, they are nice! I can imagine the sharp definition of the engraving fading into a very nice look with some age and wear.
