Case jigged yella handles

supratentorial- They are. That's one of the work knife series, all jigged brown derlin.
KnifeCrazied- Maybe if they continued to offer the smooth yella, along with jigged, kinda like the jigged/smooth bone?
Now that I think about it, even though I would like jigged yella, any hi-vis material would be great. Orange g10 for example. One of the main reasons I love the yella handles is the color, makes it harder to lose my knife.

Case has done a series in orange G-10 (smooth), a few years ago. I have a few in that material, including '18, '47, '75 pattern stockman knives, the '65 pattern folding hunter, the small 'slab side' fixed blade hunter, and others. Jigging it would be expensive, I'd think; it's pretty tough on tools (glass fiber).

I love orange knives, so does my wife.

I've got a Case hawkbill pruner in "jigged" brown delrin... and yep, it's more "formed" than jigged. Feels ok for a low-cost "working knife," whatever that means ;), but it's certainly not pretty, nor is it particularly pleasant in the hand.

OwE- I know it would, but isn't that just what textured g10 is? I could be completely wrong, but that's what I always thought it was.
biglmbass- I'm not fond of the john deere shield, it'd look bad if I pulled out a john deere knife to cut something on my new holland tractor...
puukkoman- To me, function comes first. The formed derlin would be fine for me, as it still has good grip.

'Textured' G-10 is usually a coarse sanded finish, at most. That wouldn't take too much to do; just sanding, or sometimes sand/bead-blasting. Jigging is a whole other animal, done with carving tools. G-10 handles on modern knives that've been jigged or otherwise shaped, are usually done with power tools (Dremels or the like). The glass fiber in G10 really dulls tools fast, so I don't see any inexpensive way to go about doing it, on a mass-production scale.

Another thing that might affect the texture, is the character of the glass fabric in the layers. Some coarser material might be used for a 'rougher' feel, similar to variations in fabric used in micarta (paper/linen/canvas).
