case knives

I like them a lot, too. I have about a dozen different Case knives in my collection (mostly Trappers as thats my favorite pattern, but a selection of others, too).

You can probably tell by my avatar pic that I'm partial to Case knives...
I have a few newer production ones but most are older. I prefer the earlier versions especially red bone.. To me, the early ones have a lot of character.
The newer ones are nice too, and seem to be getting good reports as far as overall quality goes.
I like the fact they are still made in the U.S, and offer so many different versions. Like anything mass produced, there will always be one that slips through the cracks quality wise, but Case still has great customer service and will take care of you.

Over the past few years, I have become a big fan of Case. I'm not one of those collectors who gets giddy over the idea of a new, limited edition shamrock-handled seahorse whittler or whatever. No, I prefer their solid, made-to-work traditionals like sodbuster junior, medium stockman (which I don't have yet), trapper and peanut, in bone or yella handle. I'm generally amazed at their CV steel - great stuff. Still, the ss peanut I have performs quite well and I do think Case's stainless is a fine steel for real-world uses of a pocketknife. I should point out that this comes from someone who A) got really soured on Case quality as a kid in the 70s, and B) is a bit of a reformed steel snob.

Case?

Oh yeah, Case knives, I've heard of them. Don't they make a little thing called a peanut?:D

Seriously, buying a new knife these days, Case is the only U.S. brand knife besides Buck I'd buy without any reservation. Case offeres factory support for you long after the other companies won't, exept for Buck. For the quality of materials, fit and finish, and real live people to talk to about any problem, the price charged for a Case knife is a bargin.

Case was the first brand of pocketknives I started collecting over 35 years ago. You could tell that they stood apart from most of the other brands available at that time. I really loved their medium stockman and bought two right away. I don't have either one now.... gave one to my brother, and the other to my cousin. I probably should go out and buy another stockman just for edc, it seems like the perfect size and blade combination for most of my daily cutting tasks.

I've become a Case fan recently. As a recent convert to the joy of slipjoints, I have come to appreciate the quality and finish of Case knives. I currently have a Case Peanut, and for Father's Day my kids are getting me a Case Wharncliffe Mini Trapper (Shh....don't tell me..it's a surprise:p).

I also own a Sodbuster Jr. and a Mini-Blackhorn. Both are excellent tools, and for the price I paid their fit and finish are phenomenal. All of my Case knives have come shaving sharp, and they cut like a razor.

I am a member of the collectors club and have bought 9 knives in the last month.I think they are great knives and i carry one every day.you really can't go wrong with a case xx.

I really like the old straight Case XX and Case XX USA (no dot) knives -- if you happen to like patterns that are *not* on the collectors' most wanted list, you can get some amazing knives for the money.

Case slipjoints are what I am EDC'ing this year. Have a couple medium stockman, swayback in CV and a wharncliff trapper. I am happy with all 4 and they are a joy to carry and use. I have been trying to get a new one every month or so. I have a dozen or so of the 1970's folders too. These are exceptional. The handle bone is extra nice on those. I do use them once in a while but mostly keep them nice. Case is a great brand with a big following.

I have collected a few Case knives over the years, some I traded/sold, while others I have kept. I have noted that in recent years the qc at Case has improved to the point of their knives coming sharp out of the box, and better fit and finish. I have found that I like the 2 or 3 bladed knives the most. My favorite pattern is the large Gunstock of which I have 5. I also like the Whittler patterns and have 3 different ones there. I currently carry a 2 bladed Copperhead, and have a Razor up next. I have found that the 2 bladed knives, those with a large blade, and a small blade are my favorite.

Case makes up 75% of my collection. I really like them. Some are better than others. But that is normall in production knives. And if you look at my wish list, most are Case. And Case has a special place in my heart because they are in my state. Of course so is Queen. But there is just something about Case knives, and Case as a company.

Case is about the only knives I buy now. After what happened with Schrade, I decided back then I better do a better job of supporting the old US companies. I've bought probably 10+ Case knives each year for 4 or 5 years now.

I grew up working outside, even after graduating college I chose to go back outside and work. I buy the working type knives also. I have very few safe queens. Yellerhandles are my favorites.

Ever since I got my hands on a yeller-handle sodbuster jr, it's been in my pocket. Just can't seem to put it away. Even when I'm carrying something else, that sodbuster jr. stays put and comes out when it's time to do some real work.

I do the same. Field work for me, cubicles make me feel cagey. I drive sometimes 1000 miles a week looking for something to cut and get paid for it.:D Last week it was up central CA to San Luis Obispo, and back to Ventura Co. along the 101. Life is too short not to enjoy your job.

I love case knives, bought 3 in the last week, looks like a few more in the next week...

I like Case. Have owned them for decades. In the last three years have become more active in buying them again. And they are very much a part of my EDC working knives.

Case ; one of my favorites. Fit and finish is very good. Springs are just right. Quality control is very good. Some of the best factory made.
