case knives

I bought 3 Case Stockmans between 1999 in 2001. I was quite unimpressed by the fit and finish of them. Not enough walk and talk for my tastes, and far too much horizontal blade play. The bone scales were nice, but the fit and finish wasn't even close to comparable Old Timers or Bucks at that time.

Judging by the praise here, Case has either stepped up their fit and finish substantially, or the other brands have fallen down to their level.

Case stepped back up. They are nicer than the Schrades again and I am a Schrade fan to be sure. Give one a try!

In the last 2 years, I have bought about 18 Case knives and all but one was an excellent knife. The only complaint was light Walk and Talk on the Equal End (Cigar) shaped Stockman that Case came out with last year. They definately have stepped up the quality of their knives.

Buzz, I need to get a pic up for you...they have a wharncliff trapper out now with a nice wharncliff blade and sperpantine both full size blades. These are something I think you would dig.

found a pic that has it...the orange one

For the past few years Case knives have seen a real resurgence in quality. Most people agree that Case is doing the best work in many years. I really like all mine Case knives. Case knives have a signature "boxiness" to it. This is due to how the bolsters are stamped and the scales hafted. I just wished that Case could mold their bolster and halft their scales like Queen. That would be awesome.

God Bless
