To keep things simple, I’ll use the same rules from the initial round:

I will draw a winner and send the box to them.
They will choose two, three, or how ever many knives.
They will replace the knives with some of their own (Case Knives Only).
They will hold their own drawing and pass the box on to the next person.

Porch Members Only!
Must have over 50 posts in the Traditional Knife Forum.
This rule must follow the box every time or John will call foul.

I will also keep it to CONUS only to save a bundle on shipping and massive paperwork.

If you want to be “in”, just state “I’m in”. I’ll keep a running list, if you see me missing your name, let me know and I’ll get it fixed.

Additionally:
I’ll leave the thread going for a week. Ish. I’ll draw the evening of the 18th. This should allow me time to make sure I can carry and use a couple of the knives and make a choice with which I’ll be happy. If the members here feel it needs to be open a little longer to allow time for more to see and join the thread, I can extend.

List for drawing:
1 - bigfish64
2 - seas165
3 - rcs86
4 - Lander boy Matt
5 - CVamberbonehead
6 - Boattale
7 - rishma
8 - Jon0385
9 - JoeGoblyn
10 - Ernie1980
11 - JonMcD
12 - AdamFuzzyballs

First off, JohnDF is quite generous IMHO, the box contains a good selection of patterns. Some with quite nice handles. Not being someone who normally wins drawings/ lottos/ etc… I was a little shocked at being first out of the gate. The surprise knife John mentioned turned out to be a Case Barlow with the green sawcut bone. Conditions ranged from essentially new, to well-loved and carried/ used. Knives from the box today...

Since I already have a yellow synthetic Peanut, 3 yellow synthetic Pens, and the same green sawcut bone Barlow, I have removed those from my consideration so someone else who doesn’t have one can take a look and snag them if they choose.

Of the remainder, two standout as “must try” items for me – the medium Jack, and the single-blade Stockman. The medium Jack was on my shortlist of Case knives to try this year. And I’m a big fan of the single-blade Copperhead and Trapper, so the Stockman follows that line.

I’ll keep looking at and carrying all but the Peanut, Pen and Barlow over this coming week. As the week draws to a close I’ll make a decision and post. Then I’ll post what knife/ knives I’ll be adding to the box before the drawing.

Sitting here bored, too late to do much in the apartment, too early to pass out for the night. Just looking at and handling the box o'knives...

That Mini Moose with jigged olive bone is a dang nice knife. It would be a no-brainer for me if I liked spey blades. IMHO someone is going to be happy with that one.

Im in, this is interesting to see peoples selections and additions. Thanks guys! I was just looking over my case drawer this morning thinking about this passaround. Happy friday!

Is it fair to replace what you take with newly purchased Case Knives? The ones I own have sentimental value and aren't going anywhere as long as I live. If it's OK to buy new, I'm in. If not, thanks for the offer but I must take a pass.

I've got you all added.

I'm not sure of JohnDF JohnDF s thoughts, but I can tell you the two I'm adding are less than 3 years old and have seen very little use/ pocket time and will look almost as new as "out of box" - minor scratches on bolsters etc... I've only been back with Traditionals since Nov 2018, so other than a SAK from 1984, all of mine are just over three years old or newer.

Day 2, and so far the three-blade patterns still aren't speaking to me.

Too bad the Mini Moose didn't have a Wharncliffe secondary, it would be a no-brainer for me. But I guess it wouldn't be a Mini Moose at that point? The olive green bone looks even better IMHO in daylight.

I'm really liking that Medium Jack. Just like a Peanut (small Jack?), but not fumbly in my hands/ fingers.

This is a neat idea. I’ve eyeballed a few of those models in the past and would enjoy a chance to handle them. I’d like to be in for next round too.

Oh ya, medium jack would be my first choice too. Love my peanut, but a hair bigger would be perfect!
