Spent some time doing some TLC on the Med Jack and Stockman.
Medium Jack met with some mineral oil and a cotton swab, spotting on the blades has wiped off. Good to go. Not sure if this knife ever saw any use it's in such good condition.
Stockman has a lot of good life left in it, even though it has been well-used. Action was a little gritty, but IMHO still has good snap open and closed. Gunk from handling and use in the blade well. Clip point has been worn down and had a hump in the spine due to the wear. Needs a new bevel and sharpening.
Did a hot water and soap bath, scrubbing with a toothbrush, toothpick, and pipe cleaner. Got all the gunk out that'll come out for now, will be using some blue lube cleaner when I get a new bottle, should eat what little oil-based gummy is remaining. Action is much smoother, still a nice snap at open and close. My OCD was twitching a bit over the worn clip point and the hump, so I slowly worked that down to almost gone and slightly rounded the spine edges to remove the beginnings of sharpness. Side benefit is the rounded point is now closer to a normal point. Hit the bolsters with a little flitz, surface scratches are gone and the metal is a tiny bit shinier.
Another month or two down the road I'll make a decision on which guided sharpener I'll get, and once I have it I'll work on re-establishing a solid bevel and then sharpen. And that'll be it. The character it arrived with is still there IMHO, and I have no intention of trying to remove it. Solid knife, should work well for years.
This shows the hump towards the tip of the blade that was making my OCD twitch, better than the others I've posted:
And the following two are after the cleaning and work on the hump area:
And remember - random draw on Friday. Please review first post before calling "in".
