Case Peanut or Case Small Texas Jack?

... I do have a Case Peanut. Truth be told, I have never felt confident carrying the Peanut as my main knife because it does not seem to be enough. Having read the cult of the peanut thread, I do feel like I am missing out on something and attribute it to my own shortcomings and not the knife.

I know people are almost RELIGIOUS about their Peanuts on this board....

Some might be interested in this thread, Peanuts!, an irreverent examination of the power of the Peanut.

(Note, the thread is in Whine & Cheese, and while predominately G-rated there are a few off-color expressions therein.)

The Butterbean in Honeycomb with the little golden shield is a beautiful knife, that picture doesnt do it justice.

I was deciding between a peanut and a butterbean last weekend, had them both in my hands and chose the butterbean. (Christmas Gift)

I know people are almost RELIGIOUS about their Peanuts on this board, but the Butterbean just feels better to me. They are almost identical in size and weight, and I prefer the blades on the butterbean. I am a sucker for long pulls... and it has them on both blades :D

You're lucky to find a place where you can find both those knives and be able to hold them. I do like the look of the clip blade on the peanut but it's too bad i can't find a place where they sell alot of Case knives.

The Case Butterbean certainly has some nice patterns but every one I see is stainless steel.

Only got to the bottom of the first page so far, but those posts of Stelth's are some of the funniest I've read! :D

Although I think my favourite Peanut post was one where the poster (Pete possibly?) was sitting talking to his Grandpa, and the poster reached for an apple and pulled his Peanut out to peel or slice it. The old man dryly quips: "Is that your girlfriend's knife?" Still has me laughing! :D

The Peanut is just too small for me to manipulate comfortably. I've held them and cut with them and carried them, but I can't seem to appreciate what others see in them. Not enough knife for me. And I don't own one anymore. Gave it to someone who could enjoy it more than I did.
The Small Texas Jack, however, is my Peanut. All of the attributes that endears the Peanut Cult to its idol apply to my STJ.

I'm with you Pete; I carried this 22087 around Miami Beach for the last four days; you get a lot of blade for such a compact knife. It fits well in the hand and wears well in a pair of shorts. I don't care much for pen knives of any configuration as an EDC (but I do collect them) - this working grade Case is just the right size. OH

Great little knife. I have the same one and carried it today myself. The black synthetic scales are surprisingly sleek and classy looking.

The big difference for me is that this is a 4-finger knife, instead of 3-finger like the Peanut, and so affords a much better grip.
