Case Peanut vs. Texas Toothpick

Pokerface ~~ I am on my way to look and see if I can find a GEC like the one you have as I really like the lines and looks of that Knife and I think that I could carry one like that in my Watch Pocket for a just in 'case' Knife.! One never knows.**
Never have been one for small Knives { except to collect. } but I think that is about to change.** Thanks -- PF

Wolfman...my sentiment exactly. I never bothered looking into sub 3.5" knives because I found them too small for my mitts, but I now find these little knives very convenient. They never kick out other knives out of my pocket, they just ride in my watch pocket, "just in case."

Working in an office now i've found that I don't need to carry my larger knives and picked up a Yellow CV peanut, liked it so much I bought an Orange SS one that hasn't left my pocket in a while now.

I'm in the same boat, trying to decide on my 1st Peanut or 1st Toothpick. I can only get one at this point in time, otherwise I'd purchase one of each in Chestnut right now.

I don't have either one, but I think I 'd go with the peanut. I like two blades in my slip joints (or more, I really like the 3 blade stockman pattern) and to be honest, the toothpick pattern has never "spoken" to me.

For some reason I collected Case Tiny Toothpicks in the 90's, up to the slight frame change they made to it in 2004. I would drag my young daughter around to knife shows and it was her favorite pattern, so I bought one and just kept buying them, lol.

That said I prefer the Peanut over the TP for carry. Gives you a much better grip IMO, and I also prefer the wider blade.

I do prefer the underrated Case Pen knife over the Peanut though. You may want to check one out.

The heart wants what the heart wants, there's no denying that fact, even with knives, if one strikes your fancy you'll be bent on getting that one at least until you do and are able to scratch that itch, I've done that with several knives over the year as there are no knife stores near me at all.

But the toothpick for me at least has too narrow a blade, a guy at work has a stag one with Damascus blade and it's quite hard to get a good cutting edge on there being so narrow.

So my selection points to the Peanut for the win.

I did grind down the tang of the blade so the blade comes out a little straighter, for me I prefer that look when the knife is open, but it's a tricky thing to do...
