Case. Quality slipping recently?

Is it just me.....but it seems that whenever this " has their quality slipped recently" thread comes around, it's always about CASE....
Simple explanation, I buy Case knives regularly, and enough recently to notice trends in manufacturing quality. Weak spring can happen on any knife and could easily be a fluke in this instance. But based on five recent knives sitting in front of me, the unfinished/unpolished/coarse blade edges appears to be a trend. I can assure you that I own enough knives to know a coarse unfinished edge when I see one. If nobody else has noticed a similar trend, then I must be very unlucky indeed.

Wish I could get a good closeup photo. Here's the best the scanner can do. Two separate knives:

They should wear the honor well.

If you are the benchmark in the industry, then you must expect to be examined for trends in your own company.

Case has an huge 'goodwill' in their name, and a very high brand recognition.
With that comes the need to maintain their QA on their products to justify their goodwill.
Because each time there is a product with a lesser QA thier goodwill is challenged, hence these threads.

We all have our basic QA standards, and we all have our benchmarks for what we expect of knives within price ranges.
So the QA of my $25 yella peanut needs to be in an acceptable range of a $50 peanut, and I need to differential between the two by F&F
So I don't want to feel that my $25 peanut is cheap and sloppy, and I do want to feel my $60 swayback is worth the extra money.

Queen has a very tight range in their QA, where the quality of a $45 Queen is close to a $75 S&M.
And I understand I am paying the extra for better F&F
But Queen has fallen down on the job in not shipping sharpened knives with good factory grinds.
And after they fix this it might take years to repair their image and goodwill.

And it would be good for Case and Queen to listen to these reviews by us as an external QA as we are highly critical and informed users of their products

I wonder if some of this perceived quality slip has to do with the lay-offs at CASE over the last year.Fewer workers under more pressure to produce more knives, might be a factor. But, as I've said I've been pleased with my CASE knives and the one that was no good they replaced(without quibble or me having to return it).
