Case & Queen old vs new

I've seen some excellent examples and some poor ones from both companies. One thing of note, until I got the internet/home computer back in 2001, I had never before in my life heard of Queen Cutlery company. Had never seen one of their knives period. Many people around here in mid-North Alabama still have never heard of this brand. People will ask what kind of knife is that, I'll say it's a Queen, their reply is "it's a WHUT?" If it isn't Case or Schrade they know nada about them. Since becoming interested in knives and collecting, I have met people that we would classify as "knife knuts" who are knowledgeable about them, but as far as the average Joe off the street, Queen/Schatt & Morgan is unknown. Such as it is, it's very very rare to even see an older Queen knife around here, and the only Schatt & Morgans I've ever seen have been mine.

You can't really compare Case to Case Classics as the majority (except 3-4 patterns) of Case Classics were made by Queen.

 We have been looking at a whole different batch of knives ;)

Thanks for jogging my memory Mike. I knew they looked different. The shields were pinned and they weren't tumbled. It says a lot for Queen. I like the f/f on everyday Cases too. They are put together. You just have to accept the manufacturing flaws, like the springs you can see a slight radius on one side from stamping. It shows up against the liner sometimes. It doesn't take away from it's functionality. I have my Case xx 7 dot 63032 looking at grind lines in the main spring, and a few gaps in the springs. It turns into it's personality I guess.
