Case Red Bone Barlow Good as New or A Red Bone by any other Name...

Thanks Charlie. Means a lot coming from you. So how'd you get the red soup so red? or do I not want to know? LOL

Was actually a tiny bit worried someone might be upset about the "heresy" of putting "new" blades with a different configuration on such a classic, but considering how far gone the original blades were...

The dying is GEC's secret process. They work hard developing how they do things, and I cannot blame them for not sharing their methods with the competition.

I see nothing wrong with reblading a nice Redbone. Many repair people mark the inside of the knife, to prevent abuse by a future seller. But that is on knives costing many hundreds. You have made a good useful Barlow, that is a pleasure to have in your pocket. Nothing wrong at all, IMO. Certainly no heresy!!

Well GEC is doing a really dynamite job with their dyeing and I'd guard that secret as well. I was joking because if hear that case could no longer use their red dye due to its toxicity and I was wondering if GEC might have gotten their hands on an old pot and secretly put it to use.
