Case researched, obtained, and sent to me for free a replacement shield

Even though I told them up front that I'd bought the knife third hand.
And if the shield isn't perfect, I'm to send it to Case's repair department.
It's a lot closer to perfect than anything I could have done with a file and a bit of aluminum.

Good on them! Glad to hear this.
I thought the least I could do was to sing their praises.

(It's a 2009 Mackinac Bridge Walk knife, but I can't get a decent picture of the blade etch.(By the way, Mackinac is pronounced Mackinaw)).

While I appreciate the good customer service, the way you state it, it sounds like they mounted an expedition into the Gobi desert. :D

Pretty sure they showed the picture to Emily/Joe (insert name) and she/he went out and pulled a shield from a bin out on the production floor and said "Here ya go."
