I've only very recently become aware that this pattern exists. I don't expect that it is new, but it is to me. I am interested in the small version (3-1/2" closed). I'm not real wild about the odd (to me) shaped secondary blade of the larger one (fat spey), so it would be the small one for me. I believe there are three sizes of this pattern with the smallest being about 3-1/8" closed. If I am right with my online fleabay research, there is or has been a single blade version or versions available.

Coould someone that has one fill me in on how they like the pattern and if they are using it as an EDC. I'm not seeing it show up in the "What are you carrying" thread.

I have one in my EDC rotation. It's an SFO from Smoky Mountain Knife Works with mossy green stag.
A really great little pattern, but remember that Case likes their stag kinda fat (see pics below),
so if you like a thinner knife, definitely go with the bone handles instead.
Backsprings are nearly flush (just a few thousandth off) in all three positions.
Mine came wonderfully sharp in Tru-Sharp stainless.

I'm editing this post because when I looked at it after posting, I realized it was my Magna Carta post (1215).
A great date in history for freedom loving people, such as we are.

I gave the one I had away in a drawing on BF last year. I liked the pattern. Blade didn't come all to sharp, but scales and liners were tight and had nice walk and talk.

Got a Barehead one in CASE's Bonestag 6.5. It certainly is gnarly and unusual, feels good in the hand but not so keen on that Skinner blade. Very well made knife, no 'issues'.

I love mine. I got the amber bone raindrop damascus version a few years ago. It feels great in the hand, and I think the shape of the clip blade is the best of any of the Case designs (love the swedge.) I'm going to pick up another in regular steel when I find it another handle material that grabs me.

That is the nicest small saddlehorn I've ever seen. That thing is gorgeous! I wish all of Case's amber bone looked that good!

Ed, I've got an 05' CASE Bros! edtion. Antq.Peachseed Jigged Bone.
And I love it!! I put a satin finish on the Blades. I still carry
it a good bit! I think you would like it! Try one out!

Moon, I believe those were antique amber bone, a limited edition run. It really does look GOOOOODD!!!

All of these look really good. As usual, the catalog/stock photos don't do these knives justice. One of these has to go on my "gotta have it" list. Thanks guys for posting the pics.

I dyed the amber bone on that Saddlehorn a little darker using several applications of brown, black and mohogany leather dye. I got a little carried away and it ended up darker than I wanted but in the end, I am pretty happy with it.

I have tried the pattern in the past but it never spoke to me. The handle shape never grabbed me and it always felt bigger in the pocket then it actually was. If I was going to carry a knife with two similar length blades, I would prefer a muskrat or moose.

That's why slipjoints are fun though. You can always find a pattern that suits your personal tastes

I liked mine a great deal, and I usually like larger knives. My father-in-law commented on what a nice piece it was, so I just gave it to him. He seems to like it--certainly one of his EDC rotations.

Boy!!! I'd say you did a really good job on that. It looks great to me. - Ed

Well, I found an unusual example, pulled the trigger on it and it should be here in about a week. Pics when it arrives...

Barehead Kentucky bluegrass bone, single blade...

I'll put up another photo or two tomorrow.

Thanks to all of you who failed to talk me out of this. and to those that encouraged me. It's very nice little knife, but I will have to get used to the feel of the handle in my hand.

If I outbid any of you for this knife, one of us had to win it. :)
