Ashley, it is definitely one of those love it or hate it designs. I haven't tried carrying it, but I can tell I'll have to get used to the handle shape because of the "exaggerated" curve in the butt. We'll see about that, but the blade is a treat.

I don't know the origin of the design or really anything about it. I was intrigued and nothing like personal experience. I think this one is maybe a little unusual as a 2005 limited production model.

I know you are a fan of toothpicks, but I never could get excited about them. I will be buying one of those eventually. The only toothpick style knife I've ever had my hands on was a Camillus fish knife back when I was a pup. I think we also had an Imperial version around too, but not sure about that. It was really junk and that may be why I haven't been interested in them in the last 35 years. I don't care for the blade shape on the Case toothpicks so it will have to be another brand for me. Maybe an inexpensive Marbles to start with. I'm kind of liking the GEC and Queen toothpicks, but they are pretty expensive.

Wow!! That one of yours is mighty fine! If I'd have seen one of those, I'd have gotten it instead of what I did, but I didn't see one like it. It doesn't make me sad that I bought what I did because I like it too. It will show up in a poker hand this afternoon (5 knife stud thread). I am partial to bare head ( or bare butt) designs as you can see from my avatar. Thanks for putting that picture up.

thanks for the compliment, i wasnt crazy about the bone on mine at first it had to grow on me... i actually like the color on yours.
and Barehead is fine with me:thumbup:
…they only ran that Stars and Stripes shield for a short time, my dad gave me this last year found it in a small hardware store 1/2 off and it had sat there since 2004, no takers. My house is a home for misfits and strays:D
you got a nice one ed!

Now I understand why the finish&fit on my Saddlehorn in Bonestag is so good! Flush in all three positions, not gaps whatsoever or wobble or 'issues' nice bone on it too. Looking at the tang and the box it has the letters 'TB 110.'... appearing on 19th July 2004. It is out of he same stable as the Swayback Jack!

Ed, I didn't appreciate the Saddlehorn until I pocketed one. Now its there quite often. Congrats on yours...that single blade is sweet.

Here's a pic of my Queen toothpick. I've been happy with it, more of a backpocket knife though.

That's what I noticed and I felt like the workmanship would be very good as I have just recently purchased the SB jack and I was more than satisfied with that knife. I did find a Bonestag available on the bay (where I bought this) but couldn't swing them both at one time.

Case has made the Small Saddlehorn with a single blade in a few differnet handle materials. I have seen red bone, green bone (Kentucky Bluegrass Series), stag, mammoth ivory, mother of pearl, and gold mother of pearl. There may have been others, but theses are the ones I have actually seen.

See this thread: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=528793

New to the forum. I've been carrying a Case harvest orange Peanut that I really like for a few months. It is a little small though. I just ordered a small Saddlehorn mossy green stag from Case Knife Outlet. Then I saw these posts and realized it could be really green, their pic showed no green at all. I'm sure I'll like it though. Case has such fine quality.
