I find I particularly like to carry the smaller pocketknife patterns on days I dont carry a larger folder. What are some of the smaller (3" and smaller) Case patterns to be looking for?

Thanks

Dave

Oh, you must be talking about the peanut!

I've heard there are other small patterns, but i don't believe it. The rumors of other small patterns are anti-cult propaganda!

:D

Carl.

</= 3"
peanut or trapper nut
baby doc
gunstock
pen
small stockman
tiny toothpick
tiny muskrat
tiny trapper

Lol Carl :D There is also the Tiny Trapper which is smaller than the peanut. IIRC, about the length of a Vic Classic.

Here are a CV peanut a bone stag mini copperhead and my favourite a blue bone mini copperhead. All great small carry knives, you can carry all three and not feel them. I do ;-)

Best regards

Robin

+1. The peanut is hands down the best.

Probably what Jake refers to when he listed small stockman, but the 33 pattern is under 3" and besides the stockman, can also be had as a two blade pen knife.

The 024 jack is right at 3" closed.

The Swayback Jack/Gent is under 3", too. I think... Great knives at all. You should give them a try.

BTW: Any other here shown off pattern is nice. The Peanut is a great tool and a Mini Trapper would also be worth testing.

Anyone ever seen a TrapperNut before?

This just came to my attention, a two-bladed knife in the Peanut frame, but with a long spey blade instead of a small pen:

Evidently Case has made this pattern before, but I hadn't seen it until today.

Someone-- whether the OP or someone else-- needs to get one, take pictures, and tell us all about it. :)

I've seen them before. Almost ordered one. I have found that I use the pen blade on my peanut a lot more than I thought I would.

That's always been my own experience with multi bladed pocket knives. I like having the short pen blade for the control in small cutting jobs. Peanut, SAK, barlow, I like having a pen blade on tap. But I love the blue bone though!

The Mini Copperhead is my all time favorite little knife. I love this little thing.

I carry a <= 3" small knife to work every day as they are easy on the pockets of my work khakis. Along with all the Case patterns listed above (except the Baby Doc, don't have one of those), there are nice Peanuts from AG Russell and Queen/Schatt, plus small Congress from Eye Brand and Schatt, small stockmans from Hen and Rooster, the Lancer from Buck, and the 25 series from GEC.

At home I find the small knives fit perfectly in the watch/coin pocket of my jeans, that way I can carry two or three (backpocket) slip joints, just in case. Be Prepared :D

Added: Here's a comparison of the AG Russell Peanut and a GEC #25 wharncliff, love the wood on these:

When you're checking out Case, look at these too, great little knives.

The copperhead and the swayback, while great small patterns, are both a little over 3 inches.

Day-um, that's a pretty little knife!!!

I just may have to try one of them someday. Just as an experiment mind you. Really, it would be just to check out the competition to the cult. Really. Honest!

Carl. Grand High Muckba of The Cult. (For now)

It is a nice one Carl, you should give it a go.

Since this is a bit afield from the original question, I'll just point you here, instead of comparing photos of my peanut and mini copperhead in this discussion.
