Case Stockmen

pertinux - Notice the two different clip blades on navihawk's knives. A Californian Clip on the trapper and a standard clip on the stockman. Neither is really suitable for skinning but notice the spey blade on each knife - very good for skinning.

And here, I thought I was paying attention. Thanks for the further clarity.

(I was about to launch more questions, because this has piqued my interest, but shall not presume upon bonusmarple's thread, or forbearance, any longer. :))

((But if I did, I would venture that perhaps a California clip is more streamlined for in-pocket carry, and might perhaps feel better in hand to some when using either of the two other blades on the knife? Though I was shocked at how good the medium stockman I received via a giveaway here, standard clip main, feels in my hand regardless of the blade in use. It's my first-ever stockman; going by pictures alone, I assumed a closed sheepsfoot would be uncomfortable. Not so!))

Sigh.

I now return you, once again, to your regularly scheduled programming.

Do y'all carry these '47s in your pockets, or on belt sheaths? I'm enjoying my medium stockman, but am finding it's about as large as I want to carry in-pocket.

I carry in my pockets. I have slacks with internal watch pockets so that helps quite a bit.

My 65-69 Stockman is a 6318 HP in ss.
Whats the difference in that and the 47?
Sorry, dont do pics.

Your 65-69 6318 HP Stockman is 3 1/2" closed. The later (from the early 1980s) 6318 Stockmans are 3 5/8" closed.

The 6347 Stockmans are 3 7/8" closed.
