The knife has red shield stag handles and a single warncliffe blade. It has been carried but never sharpened. I've never seen one does anyone know, how many made, or tell me the significance of the red colored shield. Nice looking tiny trapper. . What should I do. Not really my kind of knife but it sure looks nice!

Unfortunately, your thread is breaking the rules here. You will get no answer here, at least not publicly.
As a sidenote, I've never seen a single bladed Case trapper with a wharncliffe blade though.

  • It takes a gold membership or above to ask knife values.
  • We don't talk about knives for sale at a specific price on eBay.

You may discuss whether anyone has seen a knife like this and the significance of the red shield, if any.

frickin double post. I hate when that happens.

TLARbb has a beaut:

Today, I have a pairing that I will be carrying. I think this particular pair has a lot of synergy. New single blade Case sowbelly and CV stag rancher single blade wharncliffe trapper.

I believe this is a Mini Trapper (3.5"), but may even be a regular-sized one(?). I don't know that Case makes a Tiny Trapper (2 3/8") with a single blade, wharncliffe or otherwise.

What Sarah said.

I haven't seen a single bladed Case Tiny Wharncliffe Trapper. Case does make a Tiny Wharncliffe trapper, but it has two blades.
However, the Case Rancher Stag line currently features a single bladed mini Wharncliffe trapper.

If you were to Google up "Case mini Rancher Trapper", you might get an idea of what they are going for.

Yes, it has been in production very recently, but my MS knife dealer is sold out. I'm sure you can find them if you look diligently. You need to go to a dealer and look at the physical size of the tiny trapper in general; they don't call it tiny for nothing. My wharncliffe trapper Pertinux shows above is a mini-trapper (3-1/2" closed) and is part of Case's stag rancher series with CV blades. They made more in 2012, but they have a blade etch you might not care for. There is also a gray bone single blade wharncliffe trapper available from several stores now with SS blades. I have one 2 blade wharncliffe mini trapper in urple bone and want to get another in a better color. In my opinion, the Case wharncliffe mini trapper is a perfect EDC. It looks good, feels good, works good, and is legal to carry in almost every locale.

I'll leave you a visitior message about costs.

Looks good. Do you have it in hand yet? Let us know what you think about it. The 2 blade tiny trapper I have, I take out of the box occasionally, but put it back up. I really ought to put it in a pocket and see if it has any real utility or if it is just a nice scale model of a pocket knife. On the other hand the mini trapper that Pertinux shows above is really a nice carry and user. I find it right in my sweet spot for size and I am a real fool for wharncliffe blades. To a fault maybe. I don't do that much skinning, and no speying or neutering and a spey blade just doesn't hold much attraction for me (standard trapper configuration).

Edit: To Pertinux's question about single (clip) blade tiny trappers, yes they have made those at one time too. I don't have any or any photos, but I remember seeing them a couple of times in my inet travels.

He is dropping it off tomorrow I have two two bladed versions o e to carry ( which I don't do often)and one still in the box. They are as close to twins as I have ever seen in a stag handled knife. It's a little small but for light stuff it's pretty nice. Fits well in your watch pocket.
