Well, Tom, to begin with, Fallkniven, while a fine company, really doesn't make older style traditionals by and large. I have some of their fixed blades and a U2 but for traditional knives you'll probably do much better with the other manufacturers you'll find mentioned regularly in the threads in this sub-forum. (Case, Queen, GEC (and its subsidiaries), Moore Maker, Schrade, Camillus etc by way of example)
Stick around and spend some time reading the threads and talking with our members and you'll be a seasoned pro in no time. Just watch your wallet. It can empty pretty quickly around these parts.
Ya have to go with Case for the reasons mentioned.
Case has almost infinate variety of knives in many great looking scale materials and old line patterns. Nothing says old style class like a swayback jack with nice jigged bone handles.:thumbup:
CV steel that developes a nice patina is just gravy on the taters.
