Case why?

I consider the Case Swayback Jack to be one of the best designs out there and the CV version of the knife is just great! Covers are very nice, fit and finish is fine etc. Now they make several other models of the SBJ but all of them use Stainless Steel! Why Case? Why not another CV model? Just my little peeve of the day. In any event I love the knife and since my bad experience with a knife sharpening service I have another one coming!

Couldn't agree more! Have they ever thought about an SBJ with CV and ebony covers??? That would be amazing...

I wish they'd do a swayback gent in CV. I find the two blade version a little fat for my taste.

There are a number of patterns I would like to see more variety or done in CV, Eisenhower comes to mind, but there are many others.

Add some NS bolsters and maybe a more simplistic shield and I'd just about call it heaven.

I would like to see ALL of their patterns offered with CV blades. However, lots of people just get Case knives to put up on the shelf, or in a display case (no pun intended), and many users specifically get SS. I guess it is not cost effective.

I have come to like CV, and specifically prefer the Bose line. Not a lot of handle or pattern options when it comes to CV. Yeller handles come to mind, but I don't care for those. Oh well, guess my collection will consist of chestnut bone everything :D.

Is it just me? It seems to me that most CV patterns have better fit and finish than SS patterns. Probably just me, but that's what I have found.

In order,

Case Bose annuals
Case Bose CV
Case CV
Case Bose SS
Case SS.

Im sure GEC folks frequent this site to get an idea about how their products are received. I wonder if Case reps/employees do the same?

The Case Collectors Club has their own dedicated forum site, and I'd bet that's where most of their attention is paid (and presumably, where a company rep might be looking for feedback). It costs $$ to be a member of the Case Collectors Club (signing up on their forum site requires entry of member#), so feedback they receive there might carry some more weight. It would be nice if they did check in on other forums, but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't spend a lot of time looking elsewhere.

Why don't you guys that want CV so much take a few minutes and send off a quick note to Case asking them for more CV. Yes, a hand-written note. It'll carry more weight that an impersonal e-mail or type-written note.

Case is probably selling SS knives by the bucketfull.

Case does seem to be gradually waking up to the CV fans. The recent re-releases of the large Sod Buster ('38 pattern) and Folding Hunter ('65 pattern) in CV seem to be an indicator of that. I think the FH in particular hasn't otherwise been seen in CV/carbon since the '70s, so that one seems significant. It actually surprised me; I didn't think I'd ever see it in carbon steel again.

I feel lucky we have the Chestnut SBJ in CV, and wish they would offer it on more models with bone.

I'm thinking the CV SBJ has sold well, and that may help us get more models with CV in the future.

I just joined the club and they will definitely be hearing from me.

I'll second that!

And thirded. The number of CV options with Case these days seem few and far between, unfortunately. There are a number of their knives that I would consider buying, but I'm not interested in SS blades.

silenthunterstudios has the right idea IMHO. No disrespect, but a lot of Case consumers purchase their knife, not to use, but to add to their "collection" of NIB specimens they have stashed away. That sort of thing isn't for me, but such individuals, could probably care less about blade steel. I'd love to see more Chrome Vanadium, I just love the patinas, and while I like CV I am no hater of Stainless, Tru-Sharp, just doesn't appeal to me at the moment. I'd just assume get a Buck, which I feel produces better stainless (their 420HC compared to Tru-Sharp).
