Case XX 1920 - 1940 Red Stag

What is the closed length of that ISW Mark? :confused:

I thought you were sick - are you sure you want to go down that road again?? :eek::eek::eek::D

Closed length is 3 5/8"

I'm feeling better, and no, I don't want to go down that road again! :D

NICE! My first look at a Case from the Tested era with red stag. It's fiery! Thanks for posting.

Thanks thawk and everyone for the nice comments. I hope to see some more posted on this thread.

What a beauty. It looks wild.
I have questions tho.
I've always thought it meant red as in Red Deer(the species)
What is the red colour? surely not any sort of blood or fresh cut meatiness from the stag if its 60-70 years old.It would have gone dark.
I've never seen stag like it.
Has it been coloured?
Maybe its the lighting in the pic?
When are they making more of them?
Astounding.
:thumbup::D

Sorry to sound like a no win no pay lawyer.
I'm simply intrigued by how fresh it looks-is it potassium permanganate they use to colour antler?maybe this one got an extra long dunk.

LOL meako, you don't sound like a lawyer to me.

Red Stag is not a natural stag color. It has been dyed like red bone in the bark areas. Potassium Permanganate starts out purple but turns brown when it dries. Case has been doing Red Stag for decades and GEC has done some too.

Thank you for the compliments my friend. :thumbup:

I know it's early days-but that could be the score of the year.Definitely a standout.

Thank you, I don't think I will find a better example in my lifetime.

I hope some other old Red Stag gets posted here.

Love that Mark!!! The Mark (pun intended) side is on fire and the pile side is so fire glowish mellow---I really like that----the full blades are sooooo rare:thumbup:

Now tell me where your picking up these fantastic gems, via pm of course:thumbup:

Maybe it's been answered and my impatience to read every post has gotten the best of me but is it the #6207 frame? 3 1/2 closed?

Your knockin these vintage knives outta the park brother:thumbup:

I was thinking I could take that main blade out of your rare Case and make me a Case Tested ISW Primble for my first tear down project.

Now thats funny.... :thumbup::thumbup::D

I just purchased this old Case in red stag and I have never seen one of these from this era before. I thought I would share a few photos of it and if anyone else has 1920 -1940 Case red stag, please post some pictures
