Anyone happen to own one and how does it compare in size to the peanut?

Always wanted one but they sure are high priced or well sought after models.

I have this one and it is quite a bit larger than a Peanut at 3 & 3/8 inches closed - it still fits a watch pocket nicely:

They are nice knives, very solid snap and, while compact in size, significantly more knife than the Case Peanut. OH

That's a perfect size knife--and if it's as "stout" as a peanut, I think i need one!

Is there a pattern name for this knife, or are they simply referred to by the number?

Eric, This knife is referred to as an Equal End Jack. My 62055 measures 3-1/2", nice in the pocket, but a long way from being a Peanut or pen knife in size (it's stout, there is no doubt about that when you open or close it). OH

Here you go, I took a picture so you can compare the sizes. I included a Case Coke Bottle Jack 6225 1/2 for additional comparison - it's a nice in-between size and about the smallest size pocketknife I prefer to carry. OH

Case Peanut - 2 3/4" (pen knife)
Case Equal End Jack - 3 1/2" (medium jack knife)
Case Coke Bottle Jack - 3" (small jack knife)

A medium sized equal end jack is one of those patterns that I like alot and are, unfortunately, hard to find in modern production cutlery (aside from GEC's #68 Pony jack).
Was this model produced in both stainless and CV? any smooth handle option ever offered?

I was just checking auctions and did find one with smooth black composite scales, but the blades were very worn.

It's a great knife and as others mentioned a bit bigger then the Nut. I regret selling this one:grumpy:

If I'm not mistaken Case ended production in 1978, and these were produced in cv only. I would love to have one in stainless.

Just found myself one and ordered it. Thanks to all who posted their pics, it must be a popular knife among the members here.

Next on my "hit" list is a 32005 and one of those coke bottle jacks that Old Hunter posted.

Just grabbed one! Do any of you km now what handle materials this pattern came in? (The one I got is a dark brown jigged version. The seller is clueless as to whether it's bone or delrin, and for whatever reason, Case's numbering system doesn't distinguish between jigged bone and jigged synthetic. I'm obviously hoping it's bone...)

Hi Eric, usually the CASE shield will have an inner circle around the word CASE on the bone versions as the Delrin just says CASE on the shield without the inner circle----USUALLY the case (pardon the pun) but not always as I've seen the inner circle shield on Delrin as well.

Notice SOUTHERN WOODS shield as opposed to the others pictured.

But not vice versa? (Bone without the circle)?

Thanks for the info. The one I'm buying has the circle, so I guess there's a decent chance it's bone.

The collecting guide I often refer to shows a Delrin version in the '70s ('dots') era; earlier-era versions shown in black synthetic (smooth black 22055 and 'Rough' black 62055) and yellow (smooth 32055). If the seller is actually describing it as 'dark brown', it may be Delrin. The brown bone covers almost always are simply referred to as 'bone' or 'brown bone', but they almost always will show a mottled look (bone usually doesn't absorb dye evenly), whereas the Delrin versions will have a much more uniform brown (darker in the jigging itself); and something that looks like cocoa or chocolate milk in the unjigged areas near the bolsters. The pic shown in the OP (post #1) is a Delrin-handled version. Primble's examples in the 2nd post are in bone, for comparison.

All that said, if you post a pic or two when you get it, it should be pretty easy to ID.
