I have a 6270 Elephant toenail , limeted edition in black , what is it worth ? What do you guys think of these ? Thanks for your help .....

The only Case XX #6270 that I know of is actually not a Sunfish or Elephant Toenail, but a Jumbo Jack of the Sleeveboard style. The one below was selling for $200.00.

That's the one , except it is "black" bone I think . It also has a different case echelon on the handles . The box says '70 case XX6270 .
Any idea when this was produced ?

These knives were made until just recently. I have seen them selling for anywhere from $48.00 and up. I am not sure when yours was made or what it is worth.

Like Keith stated, they really are sleeveboard patterns I think we have the "ebay hustlers" to thank for passing them off as elephant patterns.
Your's was made in 2000. (count the x's and the dots on the tang of the master blade) 10 = 2000, 9 = 2001, 8 = 2002).

The jigging on the handle (is that bone?) is called a corn cobb pattern jig.

Here is a pic of a Case Elephant Toe.

Personally, I think that they're a awesome knife ! Normally, they come in at 4.5" ~ closed. Will definitely fill your hand !

Elephant Toenails/Sunfish are some of the biggest slipjoints that I have ever held. I Love them, but they can sure fill up a pocket. Don Hanson III makes some of the nicest Sunfish that I have ever seen.
