Hello everyone,
I recently picked up what appears to be a Case XX Freemason Hobo knife and I'm trying to learn more about it.
The knife separates into two halves and includes a knife blade and fork, which is why I believe it is a Hobo-style knife. It also has Freemason markings, which is where things get interesting.
While researching it, I've come across claims that Case never officially produced a Freemason Hobo knife and that examples like this may have been factory assembly errors, special-order pieces, employee-built knives, or custom modifications. I'm having trouble determining what is fact versus collector speculation.
A few questions for the Case experts:
Did Case ever officially produce a Freemason Hobo knife?
Is this a documented pattern or known variation?
Does it appear factory original or modified from parts?
If original, how rare is it?
Any idea on current collector value?
I've attached photos of the knife, tang stamps, and markings.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

Read the rules first....
The knife doesn't appear to be anything, in fact it just doesn't appear.
You need to use a free third party host like Imgur. Use the BBCode link (the one that uses IMG tags) to make pictures appear in the body of your post.
Case has made literally thousands of SFO or commemorative knives for all sorts of organizations, mostly starting when Jim Parker owned Case in the 1990s.

Case has for sure made Freemason version of their knives, they typically come with some type of tin that is typically blue and has the Freemason symbol on it. As to it's rarity or value I have no clue, Case makes way too many SFO's to track all of them lol
