Tonight the girlfriend and I ended up going to see Tom Hanks in ‘Cast Away.’

Now, I don’t want to ruin the movie for anyone, but I think you probably know it’s about a guy who gets stranded on deserted island.

So I’m wathcing the story unfold and the first thing that hit me was, “A khukuri would
have made a HUGE difference.”

Next, ‘things’ wash ashore on the island. I’m not going to tell you what the things were, but as the character discovers each item, the audience laughs. I know it was only a movie, but all these laughing people bothered me. Are they really so stupid?

If you go see this movie, tell me what popped into your mind about the uses for the ‘things,’ before they were demonstrated.

Finally, there’s a hole in the plot. It becomes apparent when you consider:
-The girl with the map
-Similar disasters
-Things washing ashore
If you see the movie, tell me if you think you know what the fault is.

PS-This won't spoil the movie either...
Go to the bathroom before getting all comfy in your seat, it's 2 1/2 hours long.

PPS-Overall, I give it a 6 out of 10. you may be better to wait for it on video (unless your girlfriend MAKES you see it with her--like mine did).
