first off...
this is not an official Buck Knives company poll
nor is it endorsed by any one at Buck!!

what this post and poll is for…
is because in casual conversation with some one at buck it was said that they
( some one at buck ) had brought up considered a folding knife to have for sale in the store for the meeting at post falls…
again in a fake casual (fake as pulse rate was up already ) tone…
I asked if a anvil laser cut out was some thing they might could do or consider…
a pause and then “you know that might be do-able… but i don’t know.”
now I asked on the cut out only as I am rather enamored of them and the 111 because it may be discontinued …

so I created this poll as I would love to see a 20th year folder of any kind…
think2.gif

now I went with the 110 as it is the most poplar and easiest frame style to be selected by buck,,,
(now I prefer cut outs and 111 so I am campaigning for them .. you can push any knife ya want! )

but …
I had not considered a 531 or one of the other knives For give me for that…
but I made the poll so that you can write in a vote for any folder you want in your post
and I can not change the poll now…
the one was to be for sale only at the store during the meetings but as many can not make it …
jest asked if it should be for members only to keep non bcci reselling dealers
from buying and selling and some one not being able to get one due to them,,,

as of this edit there has been no official word or response from the mountain at all !!!
I did not consult any one on this poll at all! and no one at buck endorsed putting a poll up!!
I may even be in trouble for it !!

sure enough I got in truble with tribbles on voicing my preferred choice!!
Hummmm… gee…
like I can stop any of youa'l from posting your thoughts on any ones choice!
Hee hee hee ...
remember this is all fun with a spot of it could happen thrown in !!
Well enught said …

Geez Dave, what a can of worms you have done gone and opened; kinda like asking a guy what kind of girl he prefers (blonde, brunnete, redhead; short, tall; skinny, large; etc., etc.). But since you asked. ;) As you indicated in an earlier Wikipedia thread today, to many people, a "Buck Knife" is synonomous with a large folding knife with a locking blade and that has got to be the classic 110 (at least IMHO). Absolutely no blade cut-outs, but I like the anvil, preferably a nickel silver inlay in some sort of fancy handle material, with nickel silver bolsters. My two cents.

PS: With polsihed blade and no etching, and with the number "20" engraved in the inlaid anvil.

I would like a Folding Kalinga with some sorta cutout (if the cutout is necessary) ;) Oh yeah with a mirror polished 420HC blade ;)
With desert ironwood handles or cherrywood!
(There is no point in cutting a hole in a precious piece of S30V)

If no cutout would be needed maybe an etch on the handle with a BG-42 blade ;)

I would love to see a 110 with the pearl drop damascus along with some nice mastodon ivory scales and nickel silver bolsters

I'll take one of each of the knives you feller's design!!! :)

yep sir-ree i am!
once the poll is set up i can not change it...
and i elect to speek for the can-a-date of my choice!

now an anvil outline has been used on club knives {a 531?}
and it looked sweet !

Well Dave, it was a 532 w/ Ironwood inlays & BG42 blade, but since you've brought up the 531, I could really use one in BG42 with a pocket clip and I wouldn't care what the inlays are made of :D

ok you guys,,,
i am putting this Urgent Poll up as it might come true in time ...
you can check all that apply to you!
i will BTT as needed to keep on first page..
if you have your own idears for a folder you can list it in your post!

i have thought of the bcci 20 year knife a lot...
it sure is one pirty old school stright blade!
well i heard from the grape vine that there was thought of a folder...!!!:D
now i am not starting any thing!!!
this comes from the grape vine that some one at buck had said they were thinking of a commentrave folder!
not sure if as a club issue knife ... or for the store to sell...
i dont know... i got all excited and shimmery like a school girl seeing an teen idol that i dont rember all the conversation except that when i said cutout a number of folks i said it to went Hummm.. that could be done...

now i have a hankering for the 111's ... jest a fancy 110 to me...;)
and it is rumored it may be discontuned !!!
well it occured to me to mention to some (like a lot) that it a cut out may could be done and all said Hummm...

yep i know a lot of ya dont like the cutout blades as not real users
but would a 20 year celbration knife be used...
or is it a memory and show thing?

what i first dreamed of was :
111 nickel with stag or horn or Pearl with a anvil cut out on the blade!!!
this would be a club members only cut out and maybe the only club cutout as i dont think the club has done one.. feel free to corrrect me if i am wrong.

another option said to me was a 111 frame with an contrast anvil inlay in iron wood or walnut like the past knife... with BG42 or CPM154 blade solid blade
possability with gold or deep black acid etch of an anvil on the blade...
or unmarked damascus even..
.... BUT- i think a cut out is most do-able and easist in time alowed on the laser as it is a shorter time of devlopment! this was simi confermed also...

i hear lota people say "if they had asked me ..."
well here is a informal way to say what you think!
you can't say you wern't asked !
Dave, I would purchase a 111 w/ 154 CPM mirror polish blade, no cut out, no clip pt. (a drop pt like the one offered in S30V in 2005) w/ stag slabs and leather sheath and gold etch club logo on front and just my number on back no other redundant number. DM

A special folding knife for the 20th... Let's see. What knife is just over 20 years old and originally had a short run? Wake up the programer, crank up the CNC, and plug in the laser. How about, "The Titanium 186",with the rain drop damascus blade. The original "186" tang stamp on one side of the blade and the BCCI tang stamp on the other side. One per member with delivery only at the 2oth meeting.

Since time is a flying I would let Buck off the hook on producing the optional belt clip.

See you in Idaho.

now this i would throw a 111 or a 110 off to the trash for!!!
if wishes were horses beggers would ride as my grandmaw said...
or as the wife says ... if a frog had wings he would not bump his...

111 works for me... But no cut out... Nickel silver bolsters... Stag would be nice or some nice wood with a rain drop Damascus clip blade or a mirror polish clip blade... A nickel silver anvil would be great on the handle... Put the number 20 some where on the handle... Like Tin Sue said on the anvil... A leather sheath with number 20 etch on it, on an anvil to match the one on the handle... But a 110 will do if a 111 doesn't work out...

I went 111 for the special occasion would like a premium steel, no cut outs, durable handle, one to collect and one to use. Thanks!
