I paid for a knife from the sales thread immediately after terms were agreed on. This member just went dark after that. No PM messages responded to and both email addresses went unresponded to as well. He was checking in on the forum regularly, I could see the activity when you click on profile. I finally had to have PayPal step in and get me a refund. He wouldn't even respond to them. I always use goods and services and this is a perfect example of why not to use friends and family payment method. He had a good feedback rating until this happened. Beware buying from our selling to this member. This was the original sales thread https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/benchmade-anthem-and-para3.1685468/#post-19271017

Very strange after all the positive feedback. I wonder if some personal crisis took his attention away from fulfilling his knife transaction obligation.
I did think about that, but he was on and off the forum several times after the transaction and he never even responded to any PM s. Plus I tried both of his emails. Then I checked on the positive feedbacks and they are not recent.

Hmm. Nice to see you used PP goods. Hopefully you get your money back quickly.
He was on the forum as recently as Sunday.
He did have a lot of positives, so it's odd that this would happen. But, it wouldn't be the first time someone went off the rails after positive history.
Maybe he can explain at some point here.

I really wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. But when I would come on and see that he has been on the Forum since with no response or anything it kind of put me off. After this happened a few times I finally had to file the claim with PayPal. I would like to see an explanation as well.

I wish if he is active on the forums to hear his side too ...

I am in no way shape or form saying you shouldn't have filed a claim or left this thread .... I believe in this situation it was a reasonable response ... and I'm glad you got made whole.

would still like to here from @castillokid with an explanation ... ???

It does seem strange that such a long time member with so much positive feedback would jeopardise their reputation over a relatively small amount of money.

My first instinct was that he must have had something happen to him physically to prevent him from completing the transaction or offering an excuse/explanation. However as he has been frequenting the forum recently it appears that is not the case.

I am glad that the OP followed correct Paypal procedures and he is not out of pocket.

His last posting before that sales thread was Nov 29 2018 so makes me wonder if someone got access to said account and it just checking for suckers to a fake post after all conveniently can't post pictures of knives that may not have.

I thought that might have been the case, but I remembered that he sent me pictures of both knives. I just wanted the red scales from the DLT Para 3. I was only buying to swap my brown scales for the red ones and put it back out into the wild. It seemed like it should be a simple deal.
