Casting solder...

I found a youtube video about casting solder like you would pewter and am thinking of trying to do so to fill around the base of a lauri blade I am handling. The grind on these blades extends down onto the tang so your bolster, to fit around the base of the tang, must be shaped where a gap is present when the bolster is fitted. My bolster is Acacia. My question: is there a way to do so without having the solder stick to the blade itself so I can still remove the blade to finish the bolster? Can I coat it in something? Thanks.

Solder is not what you need.

Bill is correct, you want pewter or white metal.
The answer to your sticking question is to coat the parts that you don't want bonded to with yellow ochre.
