I recently bought a lockback whittler by Case/Bose. Was this an original pattern by Bose or which knife company? It is quite a complicated one to build. Thanks for any info.
 
Per the master, Tony Bose, himself:

This knife was patterned from a Bridge Cutlery LBW that was made early in the last century. Utica, Boker, OVB, Keene Cutlery as well offered these knives. They were probably all made by Utica and Boker. Anyway it's a very old pattern ,very neat and hard as hell to make.
 
Several companies made lockback whittler patterns way back - with the Remington lockback humpback ("Norfolk") whittler in stag being one of the Holy Grails for collectors.
